I've discovered Tasha's Hideous Laughter somehow has a very high success rate against the commander. Made it pretty easy for my Warlock with Us helping to heal.

Yeah the commander doesn't have particularly good wisdom saves. That's how I get my cleric to always make him drop his greatsword so I can give it to Laezel

I think the Cottage is not working anymore, as hiding became an action, you no longer can attack and hide in the same turn.

Hahaha wow I can tell you really put a lot of genuine effort into these videos. Your passion for RPG/D&D/story telling/video making- whatever it is that drives you to make these videos the way you do- it really shines. I’m not a big fantasy geek, I do like playing RPG’s and have been enjoying BG3 but I have a tendency to play all RPGs the same: cutscene-skipping, save-scumming, loot goblin that plays the game for its mechanics, not for its story. It’s been really fun watching your videos for me because of this. It’s a definite change of pace from the way I approach RPGs. Anyways, thanks for the entertainment guy, keep doing what you’re doing, it’s really fun to watch.

I’ve done the Us restoration trick before, but my most recent sorcerer play through (5 days ago) when Us hit the restoration I got a message that said my party died and it was over ….

Interesting, there is a full party wipe trigger in the doorway that prevents you from leaving the control room, but I didn’t know there was one that could somehow get triggered from the restoration tanks.

Oh yeah, I’m not dead set on anything yet, but I’m leaning towards doing a playthrough with 4 characters all the same class, and trying to exploit/cheese everything I can, but also role play the character in fights as well. So a mix of cheese and role playing the class? If the idea comes together and people like it, that’s 12 videos (just for act 1…)

shit all i did was heal the mindflayer and spam eldritch blast XD If you run past the mindflayer right before the first cambion goes down itll spawn the secondary enemies, keeping the mindflayer on your side. When you get to just before the console the two cambions spawn, use a void buld to keep the mindflayer from sprinting alone into the cambions, and spam all your ranged attacks and Us. If the mindflayer is about to go down shoot him in the back to get the xp and focus down a single cambion. The cambions only get one attack a round so you can have one team mate helping the other stand up after they are one shot while you eldritch blast the last cambion. you hit level three basically after your first major fight after the ship if you do it like that

I didn't even notice the things hanging right above the fight. My friend and I were doing the fight and had basically won without forcing the Commander to drop his weapon. So to end it in a flashy fashion, I used my Dragonborn's frost breath on him and it somehow hit the things above the fight. They then proceeded to coat the floor in whatever they do and touched the candle I had on the ground; blowing myself, Zhalk, my friend and the Mind Flayer half way across the room, killing us and almost finishing Zhalk and the Flayer. Task Failed Successfully.

I usually use the "gorgonzola" method. I mean it's too easy and I like to save those exploding pods for if I want to quickly take out a horde of enemies fast and in style

I heard there's a 15 round countdown when you trigger the cut scene with the mind flayer so I might just drop the portion of speed on thefloor in the middle of my huddled group to give us all Gate so they can move in the nautaloid tanks while I grab the loot on everything in the final room and do the command drop

Its possible to win the fight against commander zhalk, and the two cambions, with 1 Custom Character lae zel shadowheart and us without any cheese and without save scumming. You dont need tashas hideous laughter and can do it with any class available as long as you dont have bad luck.

Honestly, you can kill the commander and get the sword (and Level 2 after the crash) without really cheesing. The Commander is Laser Focused on the Mindflayer, and if you surround him, use Shadowhearts Guiding Bolt from Stealth, and any other way to give you more chances to hit, you can kill him and loot his sword before the other two Devils come in. You just have to make sure you trigger the enemies in the back of the room before the General dies, because otherwise the Mindflayer turns against you. Though the other 2 Devils are not beatable without cheesing, since the Mindflayer will be too low to tank both of them. But if you kill the general you get the sword, a Medium Armor in case you play Barbarian, and then you can just trigger the cutscene.

Hey i see this post is 5 months old but ive never found that secodn area with the all the imps and tanks you kept showing. I can only ever find 4 tanks. 1 by shadowheart and 3 in the boss room. I havent been able to find any videos on how to get there. Do you have a video on this or information?

They reworked the ship layout when they went from early access to 1.0 so most of the stuff in this video doesn't exist anymore or has been changed to work differently

YES! BALDUR’S GATE!! I did beat the prologue before. :) Like in Early Access. It was hard, but I managed to get it without cheesing. Like 2nd try. It was not worth it, though. Just some normal greatswords and you start at level 2 after prologue. I just took out the small enemies while the NPCs held off General dude. Then went after the general. Being an archer definitely helped.

That greatsword Zhalk drops is the strongest weapon currently in early access if you're looking at pure numbers. It's the only weapon currently (unless I've missed something, EA alone is huge) to give an unconditional extra 1d4 of damage. Only really useful if you're a melee martial class though.

Easy peasy as a bard just do the spell that gives temp hit points for ten turns on the mind flayer and just keep mocking the cambion for disadvantage until he’s dead. Your mind flayer should be able to tank him no problem and just before he dies intiate the next cut scene with the three mobs so the mind flayer doesn’t turn on you.

Okay. So I had the roots of some of these but never really optimized them into cheese territory. My bard and cleric playthroughs of this thing were actually some of my easiest..but still didn't savescum that evilly. Now if I do decide to savescum command, sacred fire and vicious mockery, the fights would be even easier. Or resort to exploiting the rest mushroom tentacles thing. But yeah, did try the explosive stacking once just to relive DOS2 days...but not beyond that. One new thing though are those chandelier bombs...I didn't know they could do that acid shit. Sneak and hide were worked so that you can't just skulk behind units and stab them from behind (tsk~~ why no backstab DnD?!), but being that far up on the galleries just might be ok. Better if you could hide behind those pillars to activate stealth.
