I wasn’t committing to do strength training so I finally decided to invest in me. I’m working with a personal trainer specifically for my osteoporosis. Definitely a game changer when you have scheduled appointments that you have pre-paid for. I look forward to our sessions.

Thank you, Dr. Marbas and Chef AJ. I find it challenging to get adequate calcium through food and would love to see a show that laid out a day of eating that does.

I’m usually all about everything that is discussed here. However, one thing I can state emphatically is that vaping has helped thousands of long time smokers quit after years of trying. Also, there are many who vape with liquid that contains no nicotine. It is a way out and I can’t not support it for these reasons. I smoked for 30 years and have been quit for 10 now.

Salt interferes with calcium absorption so another reason not to eat ultra processed foods. I've read that the dexa scan was invented in order to prescribe drugs. Dr Greger says the greatest risk to bones is fragility and falling. Keeping strength and agility especially as we get older is therefore really important. I joined the gym at 57 and it was the best thing I've ever done for my physical self.

Be sure to take K2, specifically MK-7 if you've got Ostio. If you are veggie, you probably get enough K1. Mk-7 is the subcomponent of K2 that belps with bone remodeling. ❤

Also, smoking leads to reduced oxygenation of all cells (including bone), of course!

For my own information I looked up rates of osteoporosis in US. We are told to eat dairy for calcium which addicted people still love to do. We should have no osteoporosis in this high dairy eating society but the statistics don't prove it helps; " Crude estimates are 12.0% for total, 4.2% for men, and 18.8% for women. The age-adjusted prevalence of osteoporosis at the femur neck only is 6.3%, lumbar spine only is 4.3%, and both is 2.0%." The lie is still promoted.

After diagnosed with MS in 2002, I started receiving high dose steroids. My MS became so active and crippling In 2005 I was given chemo. This put me into early menopause which lead to Osteoporosis. Currently 65, In the last 7 years or so I have fallen and fractured many many times. I went plant based September 2022. Question Since my bones are in very bad shape, I was told that I still should take a good collagen for bone health even though it’s made from cows what do you think? Thank you!

Dr Greger from nutrition facts . Org says the science doesn't show collagen has any benefits. We don't absorb it.
