Made this wonderful dish last night for my wife. It was wonderful. I have made the original Puttanesca for many years to great success among my friends. Now I'm looking forward to making this one for guests as well. I had both anchovies in the can and paste in the tube so I used the paste. I also took your advice about the salt. I salted nothing but a tiny sprinkle on the shrimp as I sautéed it. In the end the finished dish required no extra salt by either me or my wife. Thanks for the great idea, and all of your other videos. My wife and I watch them on TV regularly.

Thank you chef! I made this Puttanesca and it was delicious. The whole family loved it and I will make this again. Love the story of the ladies in Naples. From a trusted source: It actually goes that there was a recently married woman who was a former lady of the night and when her husband went to work she would revert back to her original profession to make more money for the family. Before her husband came home she had to have dinner ready and this dish (without the shrimp) was a perfect creation as it looked like this took the whole day to make but was ready in no time. Hence the name - Puttanesca...

Hello, Chef Jean-Pierre! I made this the other night and it was fantastic. I have made Puttanesca before but this was a superior dish! Thanks. One thing I did, which I always do with shrimp, is I brined them for 15 minutes - cup of water, 1/8 cup sugar, 1/8 cup kosher salt, all dissolved and then shrimp with ice for 15 minutes. It makes a big difference in all of my dishes. Then when you cook the shrimp, no need to salt. This is now my go-to Puttanesca recipe!!!

Chef, I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your videos have completely transformed my cooking. I hate to toot my horn, but I'm an "Amazing" cook now, thanks to you and your videos. I have made more than 40 of your recipes and they all come out fantastic. I just made your choc choc chip cookies. My kids love them. We all love your honey garlic chicken stir fry and I'm making this Putanesca again tonight. and. That's what changed everything for me. "Mise en place" is the key to enjoying cooking. When everything is ready, you can focus on cooking and enjoy it. I used to make myself crazy trying to get everything ready. Another point I've learned from your videos is that there are a "few simple rules" to most cooking. I watch you repeat them and they become second nature. "Onion is always number first". haha. Unless Bacon. I've gotten myself many of the kitchen gadgets that you use, and wow, very helpful. The laser thermometer is a game changer as well as a insta read thermometer. No more guessing. My family loves to watch you too. so entertaining. Thery are eating like royalty now. Mama Mia. Keep up the great content!
