What sets your channel apart from so many others is that you explain why things are happening... like the use of granulated garlic (don't want to burn fresh garlic)... Those "throw away lines" are so valuable to us home cooks. Thanks for doing this, absolutely the best channel on KZbin.

I am certainly not a professional chef, but I do love to cook! When people say how delicious my food is, I always tell them the number one most important ingredient is love! Really, that goes for anything you do, not just cooking... If you don't love what you are doing, it just isn't going to be as good. Rosemary is thick with oils now, unusual for it being so rainy but that are getting lots of sun too. My sage was real stinky too.

My Mother-in-law used lard and began cooking for her family when she was six. She passed last year at age 105. The only medication she took was Ibuprofen.

I cook my cornbread on the stove top, when done, I give it a 'flip' to brown the top then split it in half and layer cheese inside before putting it back together to melt... very much the same idea... it's wonderful.

Thank you Chef. This is really a perfect way to make hash browns for a large group. One can even prepare much of this the day before. I make breakfast potatoes every weekend and one (not so secret) ingredient I use came from my father. Celery salt. I suggest that you try using it the next time you are making it. 💕 Love any potatoes. Saw a cool idea online, tried it and was very good. If you are peeling russet potatoes don't throw away peels. Rinse, heat up oil in pan, I used cast iron, and fry them up crisp w salt, pepper and whatever...very good!

Loved Chef Jean's hashbrowns. Added some red bell pepper for color and used a great product, Simply Potatoes Shredded Hash Browns, in place of his rather labor intensive process using fresh "real" potatoes. Keep the videos coming and don't worry so much about the time. Chef Jean Pierre's show is terrific: entertaining, loaded with great cooking and process tips, and wonderful doable recipes.

This is outstanding! I'm always stirring the hash browns and it takes forever to get crispy (if they don't get mushy first). I made the potato salad recipe and it was absolutely perfect.

Remove water from the potatoes first! Speaking of Costco the have prepared hash browns, same issue, fully drain after only 12 minutes or the will not cook right. I use chicken stock of that item, not water. I also add freshly ground pepper while it is cooking. It still takes twice as long as instructed, sometimes longer, something closer to 15-18 minutes. Not the 6 minutes on the container.
