I'm in my 40s and I did recreational gymnastics as a teen. The only skills I have maintained over the years are cartwheels and roundoffs. Well, this week I started doing bridges again! My new goal is to add front and back walkovers to my repertory. Thank you for being an inspiration.

Love your videos! You are truly an inspiration and have really made me want to get back at it too. I have a point of feedback, consider adding a mic for the sections on the deck when you're just chatting. I enjoy your chats but the sound quality makes it difficult to listen to.

Just like a year ago no way would you have thought you'd have competed again at the USA champs. No way did I bet you could have foreseen going on a gymnastics tour with Simone and other recent elite gymnasts, while doing elite gymnastics yourself 😁😁😁. Honestly, that you're doing this tour is by far the most AWESOME thing 😁😁😁😁

This is so awesome. I was watching an older video of Shawn J before she had kids, and she was scared to do stuff on the tumbling track! I didn't realize you lose skills that fast that you did for so long. Shawn was probably early 20s in the video I watched. I was shocked! I think it's so great Chelsea is so darn good!

Taking the time to warm up as an adult . . . SO TRUE. 😂😂 In my 40s I’ve clearly noticed how I simply can’t just hop into something like I could have, even 10 years ago.

In terms of washing leos, I would also recommend washing them in an unscented sports wash on a delicate cycle because of the sparkles. I use Nathan's Sports Wash (can find it on Amazon and it comes in a orange bottle) as it's unscented and specifically for sports clothes. Vinegar can also help with preserving colors and eliminating odors.

Question . . . When do you transition from laser beam to the beam? From my perspective, your piked Arabian on the laser beam looks solid, so how do you know it’s ready to try on the beam?

I have been watching your journey since the start, and it has been such a motivation, especially since we are similar in age! I did gymnastics as a youngster and have been working to regain some of my old skills 😊. You brought up a great point with many places not offering adult classes. There are so many gyms around where I live (including where I did gymnastics), but they don't have classes for adults. I'm hoping this trend changes hehe, but for now I'll keep it up at home! 🤸♀️

Great questions and answers! ❤ I was wondering what you thought about the German Olympic team's unitards? Do you think more elite gymnasts will adopt a leo with legs?

I know you are unlikely to care about my opinion, but I personally hope they do for a couple of reasons: (1) surely they are cold sometimes because they're not wearing pants and that's not good for preventing injuries, and (2) I am almost 30 and even though I have zero desire to have children, there is still part of me that wants to tell these (mostly) teenage girls to put on some pants or they're grounded lol

Remember there’s a difference between surfaces - tuck in high beam vs. pike on laser beam with extra rebound from the floor underneath. But yeah, the front pike does look nice :)

When I was re-learning how to walk, my physical therapist told me to run once a year to make sure I could run away if someone was chasing me, but otherwise to not run, because it's so high impact. Do you think you'd be able to do all the training you do with the same amount of childcare you have, if you had a formal full-time job? Are there any gymnasts you talk with on a regular basis?

Why won’t you guys vault on tour?!? I remember seeing Mary Lou Retton and others like Kathy Johnson, Julianne McNamara, Peter Vidmar, Bart Conner, Mitch Gaylord in some sort of exhibition in Spokane within a year or two after the Olympics. I was totally fan-girling out like you can’t believe, as I was _heavy_ into gymnastics at the time. 🥰🥰 Anyway, all that to say, I’m pretty sure I remember them showcasing all the skills, men and women…. Hmmmmm….. 🤔

I’ve never been able to quickly read a book for enjoyment. To immerse myself in it I’ve got to read it at the pace it would perform out if it were a movie. 😂 I do love audiobooks for sure! We spend too much time in the car, and I like listening to them while doing work around the house, so audiobooks get a lot of use around here.
