Enzo Maresca: No problem with Enzo Fernandez's Chelsea return after racism allegations

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca says there won't be "any kind of problem" when Enzo Fernandez joins their pre-season tour amid ongoing disciplinary proceedings into alleged racism.
Fernandez and some of his Argentina team-mates chanted a derogatory song which mocks the heritage of the France team in an Instagram live video published on his account after they beat Colombia in the Copa America final earlier this month.
Wesley Fofana, Fernandez's Chelsea team-mate, reposted the video on X with the words "Football in 2024: uninhibited racism".
Fernandez apologised on Instagram for posting the video and any offence its content may have caused, before Chelsea and FIFA opened investigations into the incident.

@@angelcreator7393 Read my message again, I said the song is awful, it is awful because it is offensive, it is offensive to Mbappe and the French team in general, and it is common in Argentine football culture, most songs sang by club fans there will be offensive to the opposition team, club and fans....they will try to mock, ridicule and bash the opposition in any way possible.....the problem is when a player sings it and it is recorded.....so he got caught signing a song that is offensive to other players...and this is why it is correct that he apologized, but again, I don't see a racist intent to it, the intent is as I put in my previous message, and I don't think he is a racist, he seems to get on very well with football mates of African descend, I doubt you could say that of a real "racist" individual. Argentina constantly plays against teams with players of African descend in the WC qualifiers in SA and in the Copa America, and you never have incidents of players being disrespectful in any way or racist to their opponents, there is a lot respect between teams. So this was just inappropriate offensive banter as a professional player he shouldn't have been part of, but the media and some anti-Argentina fans have blown it out of proportion.
