This is such a great idea! And there's even some great options on amazon for around $20-30. That's where I got mine. I've never brought it to a shoot though!

Everything seems so easy and fun in your movies. That little bag carries quite a bit. May I ask, why no flash, not eve on camera.

Thanks Rick!! :) For lighting - I prefer the aesthetic of available or natural light when shooting portraits. For engagement sessions, I'm able to plan the shoot around my preferred lighting. But even on wedding days, I'm always able to find good, beautiful natural light (even shooting midday). I do plan to do another future video on this too! :) As as as light modifiers - I only bring flashes with me on wedding days (used only for indoor night receptions). I also use video light - mostly on wedding days, but also for engagement shoots at night. Here's an example: chelseanicoleblog.com/engagements/stylish-downtown-los-angeles-engagement-session (the last few photos) So, on the rare occasion I'll bring a video light for engagement or portrait shoots - but generally, I travel super light!

Hey love the channel. Question how do you like the 85mm 1.4. I see it is a D lens which I love those. I have the 105mm f2 DC lens. Was thinking about investing in that 85mm D lens. The problem is I don’t have the need for both. Also how much do you use it on sight at the wedding. Thanks for the insight.

Thanks James! :) And great question! The 85mm 1.4 is my all-time FAVORITE lens for both portraits and details, so I use it quite a bit on wedding day. When I first bought it several years ago it was a splurge and I actually debated getting it or not - but it's been my favorite gear purchase to date. I also own a 105mm macro, but I really only use it for a handful of close-up details (mostly ring shots) on the wedding morning. But other than those morning getting ready pictures it doesn't leave my bag, and I also don't bring it on engagement sessions. So, between those two lenses, hands-down I'd recommend the 85mm. It's just a gorgeous gorgeous lens!

Oh, interesting! They're legal as a form of self defense. Are you able to carry pepper spray instead? If not there's also a personal alarm whistle that lets out a high pitched sound - could surprise the attacker and alert other people nearby.

Hell no. Hahaha it's not allowed. We can use an alarm though. I'd just punch em I guess...American gun laws etc are so much different to the UK ones

😂 these are non lethal forms of defense. Slim chance you’d have to use it anyway, but never know 🤷🏼‍♀️ You could always get the whistle in case you’re ever in a situation that warrants it. That’s totally harmless!

To be honest besides the photography content that has a more modern point of view compared to the bigger channels, I subscribed partially because of the taser bit. There's nothing wrong with taking responsibility for your own safety, and nobody should be shamed into thinking otherwise. I don't see why people are so alarmed that she's packing a taser around; she's not going to be contributing to any crime statistics for owning one, and that amount of gear is far too expensive to lose when you can do something to prevent it being taken from you. I sincerely hope people are able to tell the difference between objects, and people who use certain objects with malintent.
