I've been wanting to try this product for a while now. Thanks for your honest review. I thought this was more of a sheeting type product, which is why I haven't tried it yet because I prefer strong beading products over sheeting products, but apparently I was wrong since you have pretty good beading right after application and the rinse. I had no idea that Mirror Finish had their own version of a touchless sealant. I am going to have to try that one too along with Snake Oil. Chem-X has some of the best labeling in the industry along with the bright colors they use which really draws the eye onto the product with that bright lime "slime" green color. Even Stars & Stripes draws your eye to them with their distinctive red and blue colors. Chem-X is one of the leaders in touchless washing and cater mainly to the big rig industry where using an effective touchless wash system is a lot more important due to the size of the vehicles. Chem-X has nailed it with their low, then high PH touchless washes, and also with their Heavy Duty APC, and this Snake Oil to quickly seal and protect the vehicle. This product is very similar to Griot's Foaming Poly-Gloss. Just a different color basically, but they pretty much do the same thing. You foam on, then rinse, although the Griot's you leave on the surface for like 10 minutes, and then rinse it off. The only problem I have with Chem-X products is that they are super expensive compared to other products on the detailing market. One gallon each of their stars and stripes is something like $150 and that's way too high. WAY too high. I understand they are catering to the big rigs and maybe those type places don't mind paying the high prices for a unique product like Chem-X but for car detailing, it's high. Great products, but too high priced. I am going over to the Mirror Finish site to see how much their touchless is compared to Chem-X. Another company is Wash Chems Pro-100 or Pro-50 touchless washes which I also use, which is a single product system for washing unlike the two bottle system of Chem-X. I guess the debate would be which one is better. Chem-X, Wash Chems, or Mirror Finish?

Hey man. Good review ! I can say these foam n rinse can cause streaks or water spots in direct sun if they dwell very long. I always Foam n rinse immediately then dry immediately as well. Good stuff man. Btw, I believe Snake Oil is 30% sio2. Not certain, you can reach out to Bob over there. I'm sure he'd love to chat about his stuff. Have a good one!

Subscribed. Great videos. Does this or Mirror Finish Ceramic Spray & Rinse completely replace using Tech Choice 582 or Bead Maker toppers for someone like me who is simply a home detail enthusiast? My vehicles have Turtle Wax Ceramic as the primary base protectant. Thanks and Stay Slick
@StaySlick2 жыл бұрын
Right on thank you. Hey you can do either or. You can just use the base layer of protection that you already have or use any spray paint sealant as a drying aide.

Out of all the spray on rinse off paint sealants you have tested - which one offers the most protection and longevity? Thanks and keep up the good work for us detail gurus
@StaySlick2 жыл бұрын
As I stated in the video paint sealants that are spray on don’t really shine in the longevity department. That’s really more reserved for liquid paint sealant but I have noticed that most often are around the same protection which is 30 to 90 days. I have personally seen auto NV matrix last that long and Mirror Finish touchless as well.

Slick, I like the mirror less touch less. However, I noticed some spots after using. Is there an easy remedy to remove afterwards or does it require paint correction?
@StaySlick2 жыл бұрын
A handful of people have told me that they noticed spots I have never had this issue at least none that were non-removable the ones that I did see came off with a detail spray right after the wash. I’m not sure if maybe some people are using too much or letting it sit too long but like I said I haven’t had that issue myself

Great video! Using touchless for past month on your recommendations. Really like this product but on some cars after the the rinse then dry I see streaks have to go over and wipe dry just like on snake oil issue. Any suggestions on eliminating streaking after the rinse/dry?
@StaySlick2 жыл бұрын
Most of the time it’s goi g to leave something. These sio2 products all do that. The trick I’ve learned is to blow off most of the water but leave enough to eliminate the streaks when using a drying towel. Mainly I see the streaks on glass.

Right on brother thank you. Now try touchless. It’s the best of the bunch.
@94muddertrucker2 жыл бұрын
1st thing I noticed is you're spraying every which way. Keep it steady and go left to right like your painting the trailer and go up each time you make a pass to try to keep it even as possible. Then make sure you rinse it really good going down and the dwell time is only 30 to 60 Seconds. I would say on a Black trailer in the sun no more than 30 seconds. Also it does help if you have more pressure and I noticed the foam Cannon is not putting out the snake oil like it should be. Snake oil is actually really foamy if you have enough pressure and enough gallons per minute. Tweak it just a little bit and you may find some good results from that or at least better results. Also, dilute it back down to where it should be. I know you said you like it strong and that may be part of it as well. Like I said, tweak it and play with it.
@StaySlick2 жыл бұрын
Good info. Unfortunately I have tried this product every which way since recording this video at different dilutions and in different foam cannons and it still has ceased to impress me like mirror finish touchless. Touchless is the superior product In that category especially at the price.

I tried Snake oil on different vehicles, different scenarios and it doesn’t last at all. First wash after 1 week with a ph neutral soap and the waterbeading and slickness is completely gone and applying something like this on everything wash is pointless.

Bro….Chem X foams his snake oil on heavy you barely put any on and expect results????
@StaySlick Жыл бұрын
Miguel listen. This is a comparison video of sorts. If snake oil is 3 times the price as other similar products (touchless, wet coat, punch it) and those other products perform as expected at these amounts then why should I give snake oil a pass for under performing. just cuz Chem x is popular and has a cult following? Not gonna happen man. In my opinion it works fine not amazing. Ps I’ve never had streaking issues with any of those other products. Have a good mine man Stay Slick 🤙🏽
@miguelrodriguez6553 Жыл бұрын
No you listen.. So if it’s too expensive hate on it??? That’s what it sounds like from your reply. All I said was they put it on heavy and you put it on there so lightly that it was a bad comparison on your video so don’t tell me about no cult following if your just being cheap about it
@StaySlick Жыл бұрын
Youre missing the point bud. There’s com petition in the market of detailing products. So if there is a similar product that can deliver better results with less product at a lower price it will always win.
