Your ideas are fascinating and what a great career choice to use the knowledge from your college degree. Color and various animal yarn. I’m loving these colors. So interesting.

I really like the light peach color. I would love a cardigan out of it.

That color turned out so pretty! I'm pretty bummed I didn't have any actual measurements of those colors.

I love fall, although I have bad allergies during that time.

Would you remember whether the pastel peach you created from all 3 leftover dyes was also UV reactive? Now that would be amazing.
@ChemKnitsTutorials Жыл бұрын
I think that everything was a bit UV reactive... but I'm struggling to remember for sure now.

What is color breaking when dying yarn? I can see the bleeding on the paper towels but still not grasping breaking during the dying process. Is it a bad thing or both depending on the circumstances?
@ChemKnitsTutorials2 жыл бұрын
This is a great question! Color breaking is when the dye mixture separates into multiple different hues. Example- a purple separating into more pink and blues. This happens when there is a mixture of pigments and if these pigments bind to yarn at different rates - especially when one is much faster than the other and may bind as soon as it contacts any yarn. It is only a bad thing if you don't want it to happen. Personally I try to embrace it because I think it is cool. :D My logo colors are based on Wilton's Violet icing color breaking. (I have a whole breaking purple playlist if you want to see me talk more about breaking.)

@@ChemKnitsTutorials I still remember how cool it was to see ink from a pen on wet paper. Thanks for explaining about the set time that makes sense with all the variables you talk about. I am also a lover of violet it was my favorite crayon. Thanks again.

I'd lije to see either set woven into a plaid shawl/scarf.

Radioactive sure got shouted down by Fluorescent Safety Orange and Purple Pop. I'm wondering what the array would look like if the Radioactive was bumped up to 0.75% or even 1% DOS?
@ChemKnitsTutorials2 жыл бұрын
The radioactive held its own better than I expected! But bumping it up would give more variation for sure.
