I followed your cancer journey on your mom's chanel. It is probably the hardest thing anyone that have to go through. Your mom would've done it for you if she could. Seeing you get so sick and frail must've been heartbreaking. You have such strong family support. You are is the best of care.. . My best wishes to you and your family. Jess, you are amazing, strong, beautiful and have definitely earned the right to cry. And the fact that you're not crying about all that you've been through, but rather what it was like watching your parents go through it, just shows how beautiful the Brock family dynamic truly is. ❤❤❤

Awww Baby Girl, you’re breaking plenty of hearts out here. You have to be one of the bravest young ladies I’ve ever witnessed, you, Mum, Dad and your Brother ploughing through the most scary, miserable times ever and we’ve watched you carry this burden with a flaming torch out front as the heroine that that you are, you and your family are an inspiration for anyone else dealing with this nightmare and I, personally as a Mum and Nanna wish you all a brighter future together, no one deserves it more Jess.❤🙏🏻🇬🇧

From a 🇨🇦 Nana to a GB 🇬🇧 Nanna, I second everything you said. Jess - just know that we are all sending good karma to you, your Mom, Dad and Jack. I posted on your last day of Chemo, but again, CONGRATULATIONS on ringing that bell. 🥳🎉👏👏💜. You absolutely rock, Gurl, and your family is amazing. Some of the hardest working Canucks I’ve ever seen, so loving and supportive of each other, and just plowing through such an absolutely CRAP situation. You really are an inspiration, Jess. Love and prayers, that it is ALL SMOOTH SAILING from here on out. Hugs to you and the whole Brock crew.

Jess, I have an idea of what you are going through. My great-grandson had cancer when he was one. He had to go through 8 months of chemotherapy after having surgery to remove the biggest tumor in his abdomen. He had it behind his eyes, numerous tumors in his lungs and abdomen, on his liver and in his bone marrow. He also had to take 6 months of cancer pills (I have no idea what they were). He was given a 20% chance of survival. He is going to be 4 in a few days. And he has been cancer free every scans/tests since the last of the chemotherapy treatments. I’m praying that you have the same results. Stay strong, stay positive and believe, honestly believe that you are going to be cancer free. That’s a big one. Honestly believing that you are going to be cancer free. Prayer is another big one. My great-grandson had 5 worldwide prayer chains during his battle with cancer. His medical team call him the miracle baby still (even though he’s going to be 4 years old in a few days). Stay strong, stay positive and honestly believe… YOU WILL BEAT CANCER!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

My daughter Jessica battled stage IV Breast Cancer 8 years ago. Your chemo journey was so similar to hers, everything tasted like metal to her, or caused nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation. She left a husband and 5 children but seeing her fight and now your fight is a testament to other cancer patients. You are a warrior! Keep fighting, you have a long life ahead of you. The strength you have shown is truly inspiring. Tell your story and let others be uplifted.

I’m so sorry for your loss Cindy. I have stage IV metastatic breast cancer too. I was diagnosed 7 years ago at the age of 43 and at the time, only given 3-6 months to live. It is a horrendous disease and my heart breaks for you that you had to experience that with your daughter, I’m so sorry. The rollercoaster of treatments must have absolutely devastated you and again, I’m so sorry. My mum has been my rock throughout the years, she comes with me for every treatment appointment, every consultation. Your Jessica was so blessed to have you by her side. You’re a warrior too, as is my mum. I just wanted to give you some comfort, Jessica will still be by your side now, I just know it because, when it’s my turn to go, I’ll never leave my loved ones sides and I’m positive Jessica felt the same. Bless you Cindy, I’m thinking of you. 🌻🌻🌻

Jess, I’m so sorry you are going thru this! Your tears brought back memory for me when I went thru breast cancer treatment in 2016. I was 41 at the time, married with 2 daughters ages 9 & 5. I live in BC 🇨🇦and my parents live in New Brunswick (which is a province on the other side of Canada on the East coast. I’m on the West coast). They dropped everything and moved out west for 6 months to live with us so I could have them with me and help with our girls. I was 41 and SO needed my Mom & Dad! My husband continued to work as we still had our mortgage & bills to pay- cancer doesn’t stop those 😕. When you get emotional talking about your parents watching you get sick, it brought me right back to when I went thru it. I had 6 rounds of chemotherapy, 21 days apart. I had been diagnosed with stage 3a Triple Positive Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. During rounds 4-6, my Mom had to give me injections of Nupigen (drug to help boost my neutrophils) every round. I had to get 3 shots each round that brought agonizing bone pain to me. My Mom told me after I had finished treatments yeas ago that when she gave me those shots, she’d leave my room and go to hers and cry in the closet as she didn’t want me to hear her being upset. She said it killed her to know she had to give me shots that brought so much pain. I’m the youngest of 3 girls and I cannot imagine today watching my daughters go thru cancer treatments. It is very hard. Your Mom & Dad love you so much and even though it is painful to see you go thru it, there is no place they would rather be then by your side. ❤️ I went thru a lumpectomy, 6 rounds of chemotherapy, a bilateral mastectomy, 28 rounds of radiation, 17 rounds of a targeted therapy IV drug & now on a pill called Tamoxifen for 10 years. I will have taken it 7 years this November so only 3 more to go. You are SO beautiful and strong. Chemotherapy is really hard.. no doubt about it! Taking one moment at a time is key.. before you know it, this will all be in your rear view mirror ❤️❤️❤️

Bless each and everyone of you facing life struggles, that affect you physically and emotionally, and mentally. Life wasn't ment to be easy, but seems like filled with trials and tribulations. Pain, fear, anxiety and exhaustion seem to be so prevalent with fighting Cancer, going through the Radiation and Chemo. I watched my Dad fight Esophageal Cancer, My Mom, Colon Rectal cancer, taking her everyday for Radiation and Chemo, 3 rounds that as You said Jess, was horrific and debilitating. Then everyday you having to force yourself to eat, drink, think in a brain fog and do it over again. I would cry so hard because, I couldn't understand how God could allow this awful disease to hit your loved one. Then my sister got Breast Cancer. She is a survivor so far of 15 years Cancer free. WOOHOO. I feel blessed I could be by each one's side. Then a few years ago my challenge wasn't Cancer, but being attacked, kidnapped, and raped, by an habitual offender, who was going to kill me, but I got away, he was caught, trial, sentenced to prison again. I feel so blessed to be here everyday. I am a Caregiver for the elderly now, for years and take many to there Doctor, Chemo, and Imuno Therapy infusions. I have so much empathy, and heart felt love for my special people, I am blessed to help, because your strength and determination, going through everyday battles with fighting Cancer, humbles me. You guys are amazing and so strong. Your parents Jess are so strong, and brother and other family. We all love you, and are praying for you. So, so happy your final Chemo is done. So proud of your strength. Love and prayers.🥰🥰🙏🙏

I spent every day with my30 ish year old daughter, caring for her, accompanying her to all of her chemo and radiation treatments. Her 4 year old son sometimes at her side in the treatment room, the nurses treating them both to popsicles. None of it was fun, as you know, but little Nick brought smiles, not only to my daughter through her pain filled trials, but to others there having treatments. My heartfelt thoughts go with you, that this will soon be behind you and you will return to perfect health. Love to you and your whole hard working loving family.

I have no doubt it will help others, who may have to take a similar journey. We get that it was brutal but you made it through the course of what … five or six weeks of chemo (minus the off weeks). I hope the follow ups bring good news and eventually you can once again be at ease. The first while will definitely be a test of nerves but stay strong … I know you can after all you’ve been through. Jess, thankful you are on the other side of chemo. Take this time to heal and recharge. Expect some concerns and keep team informed for guidance. If you experience repeated numbness, push for red light therapy. It can take the edge off to reduce discomfort in the future. Not a bullet, but for some reason, helps. Be patient and kind to yourself. Hope you consider waiting until spring or summer to return to school. Burnout is real, reaction to stress will be too. Take care❤

Chemo is such a weird thing how in affects people differently. Obviously there are different variations of chemo chemicals which play a part, but just general body chemistry and how different people react is crazy. When I had chemo I initially started with spinal injections which I had to have twice a week, then when they moved me onto IV chemo it was go into hospital for a whole week once a month so they can monitor me, plus some of the chemicals would be 24hr dosing. Yeah I had hair loss, and not just on my head. Eyebrows, chest hair, pubic hair and beard all went bye bye. Fatigue was a huge issue as it just takes so much out of you, and nausea of course, but thankfully I had no pains other than the odd headache. The daily regime of pills as well was crazy. The worst chemo I had though was the intense dose over three days before I had my stem cell transplant (bone marrow), that really kicked the hell out of me. Hope things improve for you soon and you go into full remission.

This brought back memories. Chemo is bloody hard and the only way to get through it is to follow what your body wants . If you need to sleep ,no guilt, just sleep . One thing I did do was not let it define me . I needed to have some control over it and still now I just get on with it and have my treatment every 3 weeks . I have one friend who won’t let it go even though she has been clear for about 8 years . I myself will never be clear as it’s in my bones and liver so you can see why when she says things like “ if the doctor could just give her 10 more years “ I am speechless . Totally inappropriate but it was to strangers we all met on holiday who were telling me how brave she was . I think it’s the attention she got when she was ill and she doesn’t want to give it up . I did tell her if she wanted mine she could have it . Now I just take a step back as I realise that some cancer patients do this euphoric thing and want to join every charity or raise awareness. That’s fine but when they post the 10th anniversary of the day they got their first wig on Facebook ! I know everyone has their own way of coping. I just enjoy my life , laugh a lot , still enjoy my job and as I’ve said before I don’t have to shave my legs or armpits anymore 😂🤣

If we can all learn a little bit of the path that a cancer survivor walks, we can all also understand just how really strong you and your family really are!

Jess I know how hard those treatments were and my heart went out to you and your family. My dad had stage 4 stomach cancer and watching him go through that was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. Seeing how sick he got and not being able to fix it was the worst feeling ever. I am so proud of you and everything you’ve achieved doing this and I’m so happy that you made it through this difficult difficult time in your life and I pray that everything comes back that you never have to do this ever again. I’m so proud that you made it. It breaks my heart that you had to go through it all but I’m so grateful you made it. My dad wasn’t so lucky but I believe that he is up above fighting and standing beside anyone who has to go through that. And yes I did look up and ask him to please watch over you because you had such a fight ahead of you and I knew he had done it twice before and I knew he knew what would happen. I’m just so happy that you made it through it all.
