Thank you for doubting my qualification of teaching martial art...you are really kind and nice.

Thanks for sharing. Anyone who has been lucky enough to learn Pa Kua knows how strenuous a workout it is. Just doing the eight changes, correctly, is hard work. From now on I tell my students. ''So, repeat again.'' Getting it right is not a promise. Here is where you really put the kung in kung-fu. Laoshr 60 CYKFA

Really awesome instruction and love your ba gua form. My teacher who passed away a few years back always talked about the beauty of ba gua. He showed us a video he filmed when he returned to his village in 1972 of a ba gua master doing cheng style. Always was impressed with the movements

if you think doing stance can improve the hand position and other aspects of flaws in movements, so please just do it. in the end, you will understand what i am saying here! It is easy to find our mistakes but it is hard to find the solution. this is why many people will say: do stance! since it is a easy way, but it is not a good way.

Thank you for your advice, i think my student has already understood after he saw his video, it is a very obvious problem, everyone can see it right away. the real issue is how to correct it.

Thanks for uploading. Although I know little to nothing about Ba Gua, the form looks great. Every movement by every body part sems completely deliberate. Nothing left to chance.

A really bad practice is for inexperienced martial arts students to attempt diagnosing the students of accomplished teachers over the internet, especially when they are not familiar with the style.

Brilliant stuff - could you please post all eight changes; your style is very interesting and different to the jiang and cheng variants I study!

Thank you for posting, it is very well taught. Your student is a good example of his teachers art. Please come and have a look at some of my movement videos, and give me any feedback you think appropriate.

What is a good way to sink lower when walking in Ba Gua? When I try to sink on my back leg I lose balance and my heel starts to come off the ground.

You can try developing greater flexibility in the ankle. Hopefully by now, three years later, it has worked itself out. Peace.

Sure. But not much, because Zhan Zhuang can not help too much of dynamic practice... so I do not emphase that.

I do it just because it makes me feel better psychologically and emotionally, even more than sitting meditation. Sifu, if you know a good teacher of Bagua in the Washington D.C. area, I would be grateful if you forwarded the information here. Thank you.

Hai Yang I am a life-long Shotokan practitioner that’s had very brief experiences of tai chi and ba gua. I have just recently discovered your channel and have been particularly interested in your ba gua zhang videos. I applaud your erudition and obviously high level of skill and quickness. The aspect of ba gua that most interests me is the continuos movement. Many experienced martial artists can deliver powerful techniques, but most pause to do so (and are often at a loss when the opponent remains standing). Many deliver a technique and retreat to a neutral position. BGZ is unique, in my albeit limited understanding, that considers the continuous movement as (almost?) more important to the technique. Anyway, I look forward to your future videos so that I may learn more about this fascinating and under-appreciated art (of which I know sooo little) and I appreciate your efforts to expand the understanding of the martial arts community. 🙏🙏🙏

I agree with you. Any martial art movement requires speed and force. Or it will be less effective in self defence situation. Thanks.

Ancient chinese forms? Bagua is 150 years old, dude.
@stefanschleps87585 жыл бұрын
Actually we don't know how old it is. It is certainly older than Tung Hai- Chuan. It has only been in the public eye since the middle of the 19th century. But it is very likely that it is hundreds. If not thousands of years old. many styles of Chinese boxing were and still are only handed down from father to son. Or from teacher to disciple. Pa Kua Ch'ang is possibly as old as the I-Ching.
