it is the only game for me where I actually felt the desperation and futility of it all. Like when Arthur got diagnosed and things began to really ramp up for the gang. Then after Arthur spoke to the sister, I did a honorable run, and he got some relief I felt the same. Like it became depressing but it didn't feel like I was desperately trying, barely clinging on to something that will not last. I guess Arthur is the only videogame charter that I actually and genuinely empathized with and kinda took on his character. Like after speaking to the sister I figured Arthur would have felt some peace and start defying Dutch a bit more. So I took it upon myself to start doing things that benefited Arthur and would make him feel better.

This game did a really good job of evoking self reflection towards the end. I did a 180 and unknowingly got the high honour ending which was so satisfying to do after all the bad shit I'd done prior. I ddI something very odd on my second playthrough. I wanted to 100% the game this time so I stayed in the first chapter for 49 hours, yes I counted, doing all the evil deeds I needed to do to earn the bandit challenges, I then went to every river and caught every fish, just to throw them back so I was back to my original honour level. I couldn’t bear the thought of Arthur having low honour and being a bad man, I needed him to be a good person.

Someone asked why I do only good actions in a game and the answer is simple. Being as good as I can is my power trip. In the world created I want to see what impact I have on the game before it is over. We get to see it thru John and I get to see the waves I made as Arthur, help a homeless man, donate to a church, help when I (as Arthur) am cast aside (the Downes family).
