Chennai needs badly a fast track line to cover all major nodes (koyembedu to chengelpet), Porur to thiruporur, ponnamelle to velachery ) very fast similar to mumbai fast local trains.. Preferably a high speed train at 200 Kms per hour speed will be useful.

Very good video. In Calcutta Sealdah - Sealdah circular train facilitates efficient movement of commuters . In Mumbai they have very good suburban rail system and they are connecting important places by building bridges in Arabian sea. They have lot of feeder bus services to facilitate commuters. In chennai they should have a circular train route like Beach to Beach by interconnecting the available suburb train route. Length of the city bus services to be reduced..

Chennai needs to upgrade it's bus service. Build more dedicated bus lanes, give real time bus tracking services with GPS and with electronic signboards in the bus shelters to tell passengers of bus arrival times. We can't build metro stations everywhere. Buses are the most effective public transport mode. A effective bus service is also needed for a effective Metro rail. Because people need to get to the Metro stations first, to do that, you need buses. Chennai also needs to experiment with Demand Responsive Transit(DRT).

Already in many places the water routes are disturbed. Moreover Chennai is a coastal area having a threat anytime from sea water . Why govt is not developing in other districts of Tamil Nadu.
