Weinstein’s people put systems in place so huge talents like Meryl wouldn’t know according to Cher and common sense. Do you think someone with such ethic and human dignity would cover up a crime like that? There are so many other big studios who would kill to have her, she hasn’t had to audition since the 80s because roles ARE WRITTEN for her. At 0:56, Meryl looks gorgeous in the audience, the best she's looked! Cher has a worried look on her face bc she knows she's up against four outstanding performances (I saw them all). Actually anyone who saw Sally Kirkland in "Anna" will remember her performance, but not enough people saw that movie.

the way Cher acknowledges the lady who taught her accent for the movie, her peer actresses and her bond with Meryl Streep from 82's Silkwood goes to show this woman has always been a feminist.

Cher deserved this Oscar. But so did Glenn Close. But she knew she didn't stand a chance of winning that year. The media hyped up this win that entire season. But Glenn Close's performance that year was unforgettable and still is.

Lifelong friends since silkwood..Meryl is a generous actress supports her co-starring actors/actresses in movies. It's been said more than a few times. How it should be ..acting off of each other is extremely important to the story in a movie..this is why Meryl is so amazing in all her movies..she engages with the whole cast of characters in relation to her part..instead of just doing her role..she understands the importance of the opposite roles bouncing off each other no matter if its a new unknown or another well known never ever a bad movie when she's present

As much as I love Cher and she was great in Moonstruck, but I think Glen deserved this one. I was genuinely frightened when I watched Fatal Attraction and then when she became Cruela Devil she was even more brilliant.

I've always thought Cher should of got some recognition for playing Rocky Dennis Mum in "Mask." I think Glenn Close should of won here. I watched "Moonstruck" for the first time last year and though Cher is an amazing actress, Glenn should of won this Oscar.

Apparently this standing ovation, (which never happens at the Oscars anymore), acknowledges Cher's amazing talent. She completely deserved this prestigious award!

So you're saying that Cher is more talented and skilled than Meryl Streep, for example. Just when Meryl Streep won her third Oscar she received a standing ovation... and Cher won just one (even unfair) and she gets that ovation... 😂😂😂😂.

Snap out of it!! The only good (and lame) line Cher could have said in that movie. Her performance was average... she cried like Mary Pickford in Coquette (Nobody believes her crying, so overreacting). Glenn Close should have won for giving one of the most complex and unbelievable performances in film's history. What happened to Meryl Streep?? She is one of my favorite actresses, but come on, Meryl!!! You were quite better than Cher... If Close didn't won, you should have been the winner!!!!
