Osiyo! I need to make my connection with my family, with my tribe and re-learn the traditions and the language. My grandmother was Tsalagi and she didn't make it back to you all the way she desired in her lifetime. Why did he use characters from the Roman alphabet that represent a different sound instead of creating a new one as he did for so many other phonema?

The original syllabary was original, but it was modified for print, so the characters were simplified.
