Thank you for releasing another video. Yours are so relaxing to watch. I enjoy seeing the way you combine wood and aluminum to make a very interesting work of art.

I haven't turned anything since high school and recently my son gave me his old lathe. I was amazed how easy it was after 50 years to just get right into it. I also know why he got a new one.

Wow, amazing like usual. I love the combination of wood and aluminum - and i also really like the music selection of your videos. What kind of finish did you choose for the wood?

Outstanding and a bit scary on the lathe as you mentioned but came out fine if it's only 60 thou off....its custom made with beautiful grain patterns that can deceive the eyes. 😁 All caught up now and enjoyed every minute and every build! Thanks Much, can't wait for more when you have time!

What is the best jigsaw blade and files for aluminum? Your work is amazing!
@AttilasWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I use special jigsaw blades for cutting aluminium, they are made by Bosch. The files are standard files.

I still love your work. It will look great with the napkin holder! I was surprised at the lathe work both wood and metal since I had not seen that before. Did you do a video on your bandsaw sliding table? I am going to dig around and see if I see one but if not, I would like to see how you did that. I have a Laguna 18 that is about 15 years old and still running great. Thanks for another great video, Bill Oh, one more thing, where are you getting all the aluminum scrap? I don't think your printing job produces a lot of that.
@AttilasWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. There is a video of the bandsaw 'Circle cutting tool' on my channel page if you click on the videos tab. Years ago I used to make PC cases out of aluminium so there is some left over from that, but most of it comes from sales or businesses going broke or even the scrap bin at the metal shop.

Another great video! It seems like you use the same machines with both wood and aluminum. I know the blades and speeds work for both. I'm curious about dust collection. Do you leave it hooked up but off? Do you do a deep clean before switching back to wood? Does it not matter?
@AttilasWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I use dust collection where I can. On the bandsaw it's not as effective on aluminium and I usually vacuum up after a work session.

As usual, lovely design. Though I do think a more organic piece connecting the legs in a curve between them would've looked much nicer. As if the legs were connected by an aluminium membrane. :)

Metal working skills- superb; design skills - exemplary: wood turning skills - elementary - get some non-scraper tools and practice. On this beautiful art piece, spend some money on thicker, non-laminated bowl blanks. Still, a very nice presentation. Thanks for sharing, Steve
@AttilasWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know my turning leaves a lot to be desired but I don't have time to practice. If what I'm making needs to be turned I just do it any way I can (even when the lathe is moving around crazy lol). I would have loved to use a solid chunk of cherry for this, but wood like that (and that large) is just not available around here. We needed the bowl now so I made it with what was in my shop;)

a full piece of wood or thinner layers, would have gave it that last touch.
@AttilasWorkshop Жыл бұрын
Yes, a solid piece of cherry would have been ideal if I could get it.
@veloran Жыл бұрын
@@AttilasWorkshop yes it's hard to find. multiple thinner layers looks contemporary, give is a patterned look. if you don't have a full piece of wood it worths to use those lines into a pattern. just hope you find this a good idea that's all.
