Tri-shot vs Mulcher? Part 1 - Tri-shot - Master Gunner on Training Grounds - Gears 5 Horde 6-12-2021

As a longtime Veteran/Gunner class runner, I prefer the Tri-Shot for 2 reasons. 1. It's obvious advantage with accuracy. Using the Tri-Shot as opposed to the Mulcher, you essentially convert the Gunner class from being a close-range, squishy class to a class that is formidable at any range. 2. It tends to FINISH enemies, NOT down them. This saves a lot of manual running around behind cover and finishing them off, especially being a slow Gunner class. The only time it seems feasible to use the Mulcher is either in early rounds where Energy is tight and when enemies are within very close proximity. Many people would argue that the Mulcher can be fired longer (has a longer cooldown than the Tri-Shot) - this is true - but the amount of bullets expelled to kill an enemy with the Mulcher vs. the Tri-Shot and that longer cooldown 'advantage' the Mulcher has is essentially obsolete (even considering the Mulcher Mastery card). There is a reason the Mulcher is $3,000 and the Tri-Shot is $4,000; they're two different tiers.

Agree with all of this, plus you don't waste a card slot using the mulcher. These days I don't run the heavy guns unless the daily modifiers require it, my favourite build with gunner is the 2 bleed cards, concussion, reflect explosives and the 5th can be as you prefer. Torque bow with 2 slots on a level 4 locker- cannot be beaten due to the crowd control concussion card and massive bleed on L4+ gold cards. Gunner is so versatile and holds its own which I love

The mulcher’s accuracy increases greatly when mounted on cover. It’s usually the first heavy gun I purchase. But OMG does the TS sound badass! It makes me feel like Rambo.

Trishot cuz it can reach across the map and you can basicly never go down as long as you keep acquiring targets and kill them quickly! You gotta be hitting those headshots though! I can hit my ultimate 2-3 times a round giving my team invulnerbility and I don't ever stay in cover. I draw agro from every enemy on the map then hit my ult and watch the whole wave die with reflector. Also I usually wait till round 3-4 to buy my trishot. But as gunner I always get MVP and soak up like 90% of the kills.

After testing both the body damage when using the mulcher card is higher. The trishot headshot damage is great but most heavy weapon hits main mass. The DPS is higher on the mulcher with it's faster shooting, more bullets and less cool down. The gunners cards are not that great so using the mulcher card is still worth it to me over the trishot My opinion of course Edit: also the ammo Regen is faster on the mulcher

Yeah, I use mulcher against most bosses and trishot against enemies. I try to have a Salvo with the concussion card on for the swarmack. 3 secs of stun works wonders for the team to be able to focus fire it down

I got my torque bleed card to lvl 6 and it puts both trishot and mulcher to shame. especially with the 3 second stun for bosses

i use to think the same way but the wide range of spray the mulcher has against the small narrow window the trishot has if there was a buff to the cool down time on the trishot i would always say tri shot but i honestly don’t know which one is better

I feel like the tri shot is wayyy better than the mulcher just for it’s range and accuracy, for me it’s way easier to get headshots with the tri shot than the mulcher and I personally don’t mind the much longer cool down as you keep firing

5:27 for some odd Reason destroyed Forts can't be rebuild if you hold a Heavy Weapon ;)

Including if a Sentry dies while shooting after rebuild it it will constantly shoot even in between waves
