I just started locs 4 months ago after deciding to transition from relaxers but recently began rethinking it. initially i went to school for acting, then changed my major to graphic design. unfortunately i can't really give you advice when it comes to what you decide to study. you just have to go with whatever interests you and you think could become a career. the only person who knows that is you! best of luck!

@Sophon04 sorry to hear that. my advice is to just stick it out till you're out of the house and can do your own thing. it sucks, but parents make the rules when you live with them. even if they're unreasonable. i've never had any issue with my locs in the workplace and i've always maintained some sort of job throughout the 7 years that i've had them. but, i'm also in a creative field, graphic design. honestly, some people don't realize i have locs because i keep them neat and "professional"

when i first decided to lock my hair back in 09 u were like the first i watched and subscribed to. ure locks were always an inspiration! even now after ive had to cut them for work purposes (sad face) i still keep up to date with both your channels. watching this makes me wanna grow mine back soo bad lol. @anne611 glad the FAQ helped. if you workout a lot, you can certainly wash your hair more often, maybe once a week and only twist every other wash. you really shouldn't twist more than every 2 weeks or you can run the risk of weakening your locs.

(another topic i should do a video about bc i'm asked so often) i don't wear foundation or concealer. but i clean my face with almay's makeup remover wipes at night and use Olay moisturizer in the morning before i do my eye makeup. i've just been blessed with my mother's very clear skin. i didn't have acne in high school and the only time i get a few pimples is right before my time of the month or if i drink too much soda.

@reashamoriba so many great questions! the only thing i'd do differently would be dying my hair. i didn't do the best job removing all of the dye and over time my hair has broken off in some spots. not a ton, but more than i'd like. so i recommend seeing a professional stylist if you want to color your hair. i think my hair was harder to maintain in the beginning only because i didn't have experience, not because of the length. overtime it's gotten a lot easier because i've had years of practice

@LeslieMoniqueTV i wasn't being sarcastic. you asked if there was a certain printer...not a certain scanner. quality wise, i'm pretty sure any scanner can get the same results, you'd probably want to adjust the settings so it's scanning at a high resolution so you get as much detail as possible. i came up with the idea for the blog but not scanning your hair. it's just like when people used to photocopy their butt or their face lol, except on a scanner.

@MsChocoholik 1. the only change (and i still need to do a video about this) is i've stopped using product to twist my hair. i realized i don't need it and it's keeping my hair cleaner. aside from that, no. maybe they look more manicured because they've matured? i really don't do anything special as opposed to when i first started.

@LeslieMoniqueTV i filmed the beginning and ending clips, then i collected all the photos and put them in chronological order then i did the voice over as the video played so i could talk about each photo as it came up. if i had more to say about one photo than another, i just extended the length of the clip to fit the VO :)

@reashamoriba i've been retwisting without clips for about 2 years now and i continue to have great results. it's a lot faster and very comfortable to sleep on as opposed to using clips. i don't think water has played a part in my hair's health only because i've always had a water softener, so i've never used hard water on my hair. thanks for watching and for so many great questions!
