So emotional to all of us but ... at this point we all have to ... respect Chesley's decisions !!! It takes time or even never for us to understand and to overcome but ... for sure IF she's still able to give final message she would definitely says ... cheered up !!! we have to move on.

I also find it disgusting when any public figure speaks out on their mental health and hardships and I see comments saying “why are you sad when you have all of these things and some people have nothing” or “you have nothing to be sad about you’re rich and famous.” These public figures are human just like you and have feelings. Why are we belittling someone’s emotions just because they seem to “have it all?”

The world can be so cruel and unfair. We tend to put so much pressure on ourselves. We all need to be kind to each other especially right now more than ever. Kindness can save a life. We don't know what someone is going through. Lastly, appreciate yourself because there's someone out there that's going through something a lot worse.

Yea but Cheslie's problem wasn't the world - it was NYC specifically... she moved from a wonderful and friendly state of North Carolina, to one of the toughest city's in the nation to live in - and expect good to come from it. She had a rising star all the years prior and in every category, and NYC wiped her out - just as it does many people's lives... she should've moved home (for a period) to where people would appreciate her again.

This is going to sound weird, but what she wrote about turning 30 was disturbing. Her birthday is in April. She was to turn 31 this year. I wonder if she absolutely did not want to turn 31 because it would’ve reminded her in her mind that her relevance was waning. That was so far from true. She had more to accomplish and I heard her calendar in the coming months was full. But the depths of despair can be so deep. People need to stop with the “you’re so strong” because the weight of being strong will break you. Sometimes you have to just break and cry and be vulnerable because if you don’t you break in other ways. I really hate this happened to Cheslie.
@PungiFungi2 жыл бұрын
A lot of what she wrote is disturbing. It appears she paid so much attention to what negative people are saying about her instead of focusing on things that really matter. That thing about being 30 just takes the cake, like her life is going to be downhill at 31 and that and it is as good as it is going to get after being Miss USA. I wouldn’t be surprised the legal work she did also contributed…meeting people in prison and other situations and there’s only so much she can do.
@CatEyeGem2 жыл бұрын
It is wonderful to see someone with some depth. What I will add, is that she had other struggles as well. There is an irony that she was no longer a lawyer and her focus was media based on some of her Tiktoks. That is telling
@aoht062 жыл бұрын
Yup that essay was the writing on the wall that we all missed. So many are reacting to her death expressing shock and asking why she would do this saying ”she seemed to have it all.” Well reading her own words in that essay it’s pretty clear she didn’t feel like she had it all. I think many who knew her personally read that essay and then probably didn’t think much of it since it was so opposite of how she seemed to carry herself. Her colleagues claimed there were no warning signs but she left multiple hints in that essay that something was wrong.
@tonyalbertson99832 жыл бұрын
I agree. When I read what she wrote about turning 30, I knew something terrible was going on inside her head. We need to learn from this and if we hear our loved ones sounding like that we need to not hesitate in at least letting them know that they are not alone and that God can lift them out of their dark feelings

Dani, we are all shocked and devastated with the news of Cheslie Kryst’s death especially here in the Philippines. We saw Cheslie as a vivacious, cheerful, beautiful and accomplished woman. She was Miss USA, a Miss Universe host, a fitness buff, an intelligent lawyer and a great correspondent. But on the inside, she was broken and fighting her inner struggles. Mental Health is something we should prioritize. Depression is never a joke and should be taken very seriously. I wanna give you a virtual hug, Dani. She was your friend and we are all sad for her death. Rest in Peace, Deat Cheslie.

Amen to absolutely everything you've said. I hate that it had to happen this way, but I hope this tragedy brings about a new sense of kindness and respect in the industry. Some people feel they can get away with being cruel under the guise of "just being honest" and "these girls are signing themselves up for this." What miserable people, to spend their lives hating on people trying to live their dreams. May Cheslie's legacy lead to a healthier industry and kinder people. Her death is so shocking and heartbreaking, I truly don't have words. She is so dearly, dearly loved and missed.

Love this video!! I especially love what you said about people hating on influencers/ celebrities on the internet and saying “well you ask for it” or “you should expect hate since you are now in the public eyes.” How is telling someone that they deserve the hate or should expect the hate they get because they’re suddenly a public figure better than addressing the trolls on the internet who have nothing better to do than tear someone down? We shouldn’t tell those who are in the public eyes to just expect that there are hateful people on the internet. This mindset promotes these internet trolls to continue to spread hate. We should be keeping them accountable instead of telling these public figures that they “ask for it”

I have kept up with pageants for years and then I did my first one in Washington state for 2021. I won’t lie, my first pageant was very, uh, it wasn’t my best lol. But I have struggled with going back and trying again. But she is one of the few that really makes me want to try. And there is just something about her that makes you wanna be the best version of yourself. And be the woman you are meant to be. Her courage, her strength to have made it so far while possibly dealing with mental health for a very long time. Her kindness, comfort, humor. And I did not know her personally, I thought she was incredible as miss USA 2019. I think it just, affects all of us because this wonderful and beautiful person deserved a way out of whatever was holding her in such a dark place. And it’s heartbreaking. And it makes you realize that taking care of ourselves is way more important. She did have what many of us dream of. But mental health is definitely a darkness that gets the most amazing people. And I think we’re all hurting someway through knowing her, admiring her, loving her, and even relating to her. It’s just a huge eye opener. And it was for me mentally and emotionally, but also who I am and how I take care of myself. Much love from Washington state❤️ take care please. And all of you wonderful people reading this, take care. ❤️

May her spirit rest in peace! My impression of Cheslie was that she was such a go-getter and high-achiever - perhaps she was trained to be this way by her upbringing - that it became her modus operandi in life to perform, perform, perform . . . and to please everyone, even her critics. Unfortunately, despite her achievements, maybe she still felt inadequate. Also, I can't help but see the dark side of pageantry. Think about it -- you're there to compete with other women to be, say, "the most beautiful woman in the universe." How is that healthy? Conventional beauty isn't an achievement; rather, it's like winning the Power Ball in the genetic lottery. They say pageantry is about sisterhood when in fact it's more like a cut-throat competition, not to mention the dirty politics involved in selecting who makes it to the cut. It's such an uneven playing field; women from less-fortunate backgrounds simply do not receive the same level of quality training, wardrobe, make up, etc. to be able to have a fighting chance. In a way, these poor women are pitted against each other not unlike a cock-fighting match.
@alanncsu32432 жыл бұрын
What in the world does fighting chickens to the death, have to do with women competing for awards, resouces and opportunities? NYC is one of the toughest cities in the nation to survive in - with milion dollar apartments and rude people... Cheslie's life was overwhelmingly successful until she moved to NYC - that's the real problem.

I was so saddened to her about Cheslie devastating end, I beleive that she had everything that the world had to offer her as it says in the scripture in: 1 John 2:16 King James Version 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. She was such a Beautiful, intelligent & talented young lady, I wished that she had more Trust, Faith & Believed that Jesus Christ was there all the the time just waiting for her to wholeheartedly accept him as Lord & Savior & Master in her life. Jesus was there the entire time, this is a example of what the world have to offer our young people; absolutely nothing. I must say at the end of the day, her beauty, her wealth & her intelligence didnt save her. Please people, the only thing that matters in this life is your relationship with Jesus Christ and repenting of your sins and asking JESUS CHRIST to come and live in your heart & for the Lord to be Master in our life. Young people the world has absolutely nothing to offer you, please get to know Jesus before its to late. Jesus Loves you with an Everlasting Love ! Girls, All of you are doing exceptionally well what you love so much. I’m personally thankful for every thing that all of you are offering to others. Don’t stop ever to be supportive and beautiful angels. Standing for beauty in this world, is alternatively standing for personal confidence and good vibes!!! People needs more words like thank you or appreciated than hating statements!!!! Thank you for your time and words.

Cheslie was a beautiful, brilliant, & bold woman in the way she lived life. May we carry on her legacy by spreading love, kindness, and respect to others and most importantly, ourselves. This video just goes to show how much you care about fellow women in pageantry, Dani (even if you aren't super close with them). You truly are a heartfelt, Queen 👑 Rest in peace, Cheslie..Fly high 🕊️✨ Prayers, Dani & to all affected 🤍🙏🏻

Ms. Walker, I just listened to you video about Cheslie K. I too am very saddened that this educated talented beautiful young women felt she had to end her life in such a tragic dramatic way. It has just stunned me. I never heard of her before but I was just sick when I heard of her death. So I have been watching more and more about her, she was a star a Queen, she had charm charisma, plus she was a year younger than my own son. But I have to say your lovely words about everyone needs an advocate was so true and right on, I wish Everyone could see this video, your mom’s story about helping advocate for the homeless woman and her daughter is what are here for. To help each other not to tear each other up. Plus it feels so good to help another that can’t or doesn’t know where to turn. I wish for your video to go viral, I don’t know how to make that happen but I really would like to know. BE SOME BODIES ADVOCATE!! This needs to be the mantra for 2022. God Bless you always!💕👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This is really shocking. She seems so bright and in high spirits all the time. She’s accomplished and beautiful at that but it seems whatever she’s going through with was just too much. I suddenly thought of myself and crediting myself coz I suffer from extreme anxiety, stress and depression and there are moments that it’s just overwhelming. Many times the thoughts of taking my own life crossed my mind but no matter what I just can’t do it. We seriously need to take more action to address mental illness. I hope she found her peace and my heart goes out to the people that are close to her. Rest In Peace, Cheslie Kryst.🙏

I am going to be very honest. At the time of Miss Usa 2019, Cheslie was not my choice to win, but she won me over with her vibrant, charismatic,radiant spirit, and that is what I grew to admire and love about her as a queen. She accomplished so much, not just as Miss Usa 2019, but as a beautiful person that was made to be on TV. She lit up the TV with that smile and personality, and I will miss seeing her at Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and Miss Universe because I believe she was made to be a backstage correspondent/host. What do they say you are more likely to have a son play in the NFL than you are to have a daughter be a contestant at Miss USA. Sooo very true that every woman who walks the Miss Usa stage is a winner and an icon, as they can say, "I was a contestant at Miss Usa and that is such an enormous life achievement that every woman can be proud of."Haven has a new beautiful angel and they should be so lucky as I wish she was still earthside with the people who love and adored her

Cheslie’s death really shook me up. I watched her win Miss USA. I thought she was clearly the winner and I am such a fan of hers. I’m so sorry that no one knew what she was battling inside of her head and so sad that she must have felt so all alone. I have battled depression myself and I certainly understand not being able to reach out for help. I’m just going to continue to pray for her and her family and for anyone else who is struggling with depression. God can make a difference if we ask

I watched her carried out her duties eloquently as reporter & pageants co-host after her Miss USA reign, she was very brilliant, smart, vibrant and happy with that beautiful smile, who would thought she ended up pass away like this. Still shocking... you are correct Danii, it's important to get as many help as possible to overcome mental health problem. God gave us this life and He'd decide when He wants to take it back. Please love your life and live it to the fullest by being yourself & trust people/family members around you. Take care. 🙏 Rest in peace Cheslie and my prayers for her family she left behind.🙏

Thank you for everythimg you said about online bullying. The question IS why aren't we holding people like that accountable, and teaching why we should be kinder. I don't know when it became "acceptable" to act that way online, but it shouldn't be. Rest in peace, Queen Cheslie. The world lost a bright light.

Remember as a kid when we watching cartoons with a devil and an angel on our shoulders. There is some truth to it. Imagine being bullied in school, something inside us saying should a give the bully a fat lip, or ignored the bully. We are constantly fighting the good vs evil, wish she was my neighbor cause I would have help.

You've articulated the one big thing in my thoughts. Why people pay attention of the things they see and hear from strangers. We are the ones who knew ourselves best. You have said the exact things for one not to be affected. But i believe the best shield for someone from toxicity is being personally emotionally happy. Because with love and happiness, one is mentally secure feeling fulfilled and contented. Happy people never had a slight negative thoughts on anything. Because everyday they see all things bright and beautiful.
