Missed the poll but definitely prefer rapid over blitz. Always great to see though. :-)

I think there's more to learn from 10 min games vs 5 min games.
@ashleyharris411422 сағат бұрын
Ofc there is, but Blitz can still be useful. However one could also argue that one cannot learn as much from Rapid as they can from Classical.
@larryhalllith117921 сағат бұрын
Yes, I agree. Thanks.
@WaldoWizard18 сағат бұрын
yeah those 5 min games are so fast there's little thought process to share . And Nelson's always running out of time anyway 😆

Blitz, and even more so bullet, exposes what I think is essentially move biases since you work more off gut reactions. By learning those biases and checking them against engine moves, you can develop a better instinct for good moves, while longer games train calculating more. Both calculation and instinctual play seem valuable, so working on both makes sense to me.

@@ashleyharris4114and one can also argue that you can learn more from daily than classical. Too far 🤔 😂

Don't know if it's actually him but Jack Wilshere is a very famous retired footballer. Just a side note
@lanceandersson59567 сағат бұрын
I reckon it is. If Jack at 19 has the game intelligence to boss Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets in their prime then a board game should be no problem for him.

Love that he played the London too 😂

Yes to heart rate monitor. And 10 is better than 5 I think for learning.

A heart rate monitor! Hang up some metaphorical Christmas lights, glam up the content. 🤜🤛

I dont like blitz. Longer games like 30 or 60 minutes are better because you have time to think! 🙂

The game that starts at 38 minutes - you didn't follow your own rule about getting the king to safety early, plus you played the whole game without bringing either rook into the action.

Rage quitting like that is a baby move. You're twice as much of a loser if you do that. Also Nelson you should play against the guy that does chess dawg.
@CanadianMaple052 сағат бұрын
Please do a heart rate monitor! And 10 is better than 5. I often wish you played 10+5 even, so that you always have enough time closer to the end of the game.

Hey Nelson, do you know any idea how to overcome the fear of losing elo ? Because it became a wall to me from practicing the knowledge i got Every time i need to think about clicking new game button my body gets shaking then i close the app i don't fear of losing in general, i fear of seeing my elo decrease after 20 minutes of thinking
