So instructive for White and an eye-opener for Black. Thank you! On my own I don't think I could even figure it out!

In 8:08 part, what if black just castles...i think its still not mate in one
@TheKorsaire

fantastic videos guys thanks you. For the trap at the end of the video, in the Scandinavian, I think it's a line which traps the queen by going : 1.Nb5 attacks the queen and denies it the b7 square, ...Qb6 forced. 2.Ba5 Qxa5 , 3.Nd6+ Kd8, Nxb7+ wins the queen ?
@TheKorsaire
@TheKorsaire 3 жыл бұрын
Correction I said denies b7 but I meant c7 square that allows the queen to defend against Nd6+.

Sorry, Korsaire, but it looks like Black Queen recapture on a5 comes with a check ! I.e. 1. N-b5, Q-b6 2. B-a5, Q x a5 + loses a piece for White. But, I think: 1. Nb5, Qb6 2. Nd6+, Kd8 3. Nxf7+ (fork) should do it, yes?

At 8:10 my instinct says castling is possible and prevents mate. Still very unpleasant game for black.

I was analyzing the same thing when black castles. If we retreat the bishop, black has a nasty Nb4 counterattack, followed by c2. How do we proceed after black castles?
@namedperson1436
@namedperson1436 3 жыл бұрын
@@erwinyoung9879 Don't retreat the bishop, just take on G7 (this attacks the diagonal with the blacks advanced pawn on B2 as well as the rook. Black can attack your knight or take your bishop, but no really good alternatives). So after this exchange you will take two pawns and lose a knight or bishop, but opponents king is weak and all your pieces are active in the attack except the rook in the H file (maybe the A rook can be seen as passive as well, but it is just one step from the D file so..). Lichess analysis board says 0.6 advantage for white, but my happy amateur eyes say that you have many checks that you can deliver, castling is still an option for white.. I mean, you have two knights, a pawn, a bishop and a queen near the center of the board with connected and free rooks (after castling) and opponent has one bishop and one knight outside his nest along with a king that looks like its begging for annoying checks. Best move (according to computer) is to trade bishop for your C3 knight, and then what? White has a 3 move advantage in positioning pieces in attacking positions.

knight b5 and after the black queen moves knight d6.
@steelmongoose4956

I liked the knight move, but I'm not seeing the win if the queen moves somewhere from which she can deal with my knight.
@nocaffeineafter7pm
@nocaffeineafter7pm 3 жыл бұрын
@@steelmongoose4956 there is no square the queen can deal with your knight. After the check, the knight takes f5 bishop or moves to f7 and takes h8 rook.
@steelmongoose4956
@steelmongoose4956 3 жыл бұрын
@@nocaffeineafter7pm I didn't look carefully enough. I was thinking the queen could ruin the check at c7, but that would mean the knight captures the queen instead of moving to d6. I'm a beginner, and I'm not great at visualizing the changes on the board as I go through moves.

Yes, you are right. Whites advantage is far from winning the game. He can not save the bishop, because of cxb2 winning the rook, so 0-0 Bxg7 Kxg7 Nxc3 is the best continiuation for white. With an exposed king position for black but Stockfish evaluates only +0,6.
