I enjoy this idea as an answer to annoying King's gambit! Also, I suppose, not many average players know this! Thanks for sharing!

No problem Gabriel! I’m happy it could help, ya there’s some other options against the King’s Gambit I’ll eventually post. I don’t think the King’s Gambit is that strong if black is prepared for it.

I play the King’s Gambit in bullet chess all the time and rarely encounter this defense. I know when I see it the opponent is prepared !

Hey Travis, well said! Ya this is the number 1 response for black against the King's Gambit, but it's hard to find if you haven't already been introduced to it!

Hi Salomon, I am a true follower of the Ponziani opening. But when playing black I am always clueless agains the Kings Gambit. But after this video I got an answer and more importantly….white is not prepared or not comfortable with it. Surely helps me climb the complex ladder of chess and gives me fun seeing my opponents suffer a little. Thnx for sharing.

Of course Nicklas! Ya I honestly think that this variation for black is the main reason we don't really see the King's Gambit hardly ever at the Grandmaster level. Black just has a better middlegame every time and wins a huge portion of the few games that we do see at the master/grandmaster level. Let me know how it goes! Also, I mean this probably goes without saying haha as we've made 9 videos on it but I love the Ponziani Opening as well. More Ponziani videos on the way!

The King's Gambit is theoretically unsound. Falkbeer is the only opening where Black gets the optimal pawn formation e5 and d5, - in just in two moves, without fighting, - thus demonstrating White's theoretical error. It is only natural that all the lines are bad for White.

There are some holes in the story after 1.e4 e5 2.f4 d5 3.exd5 exf4 4.Sf3 Sf6 5.c4 c6 * white does not need to take on c6

I need to learn this cold, as an Elephant Gambit player, in case they throw out that gambit pawn insread of that f knigt. My old defense was the perfectly classic developing 2...B.c5 Thanks, Solomon!

Hey Alan! Ya this is a great system that has many similarities to the Elephant Gambit, and one thing is for sure with both, and that white is usually not well prepared for either.

Wow! I will definitely try this! But at 5:11, why can't black play Bf4 defending the pawn, instead of a6, a6 just seems weird to me... But thank you so much for sharing!

Looks like you're preparing to play this against me. 😁

Bb5+ is important for white instead of Bb4. You ask Black if they are going to push the pawn and exchange. White might also have ideas of going Kf2 to swing the rook around. You should not try holding onto the pawn. White should be comfortable having to King walk. Lots of King Walks playing these positions.
@TheChessGiant4 жыл бұрын
That’s true! Got to be comfortable walking the king in the King’s Gambit variations!

5:58 why cant white go knight to h3? i looked at it for a solid minute and i really just cant see it
@TheChessGiant4 жыл бұрын
What’s up bro. Ya so if Nh3 we can play Bxh3 and then White plays gxh3 has doubled isolated pawns... then we play Qh4+ and white would have to play Kd2 in which we play exf4.... or Ng3 in which we play exf4 and we win the knight. Hope this helps!
