It’s an honour to listen one of the most powerful chess players in the world commenting. When people like Svidler starts talking, everybody goes quiet because you might learn something new. Thanks Chess24. Thanks SuperGM Peter Svidler

Marius Funk you're a good soccer -- or football in Germany/Europe -- player too. Nice (brains and body just like Magnus Carlsen). Thanks.

Excellent positional play produced by Karjakin, the style reminds me the one of Karpov or Capablanca. It's impressive to see the influence of this white square bishop, who moved only once after taking the central pawn. But this was sufficient to make Caruana resign after a few moves. Also, I like a lot the way Karjakin played his king and the pawns around his king, first to defend against any threat, then to block the black pawns on the queen side and finally to prepare the final march of the king. It was brilliant. Thank you Mr Svidler for the clarity of your analysis !

This was a rock-solid win and deserved. I've noticed a few games already where Fabi didn't seem to know what to do with a position -- that's not going to fly against Magnus.

maybe black would have had more practical chances by playing c4. the resulting exchanges would have created open files for the rook(s) and gotten the queens off.
