I think Peter is completely right to point out that Kramnik purposefully avoided any 'solid' moves of which there were plenty, because he wanted to avoid a draw at all costs. Whereas Nepo I think went in with a mindset to achieve a draw -- hence the somewhat dull Berlin variation. But then finally, when Vlad's adventures got him into enough trouble, Nepo realized he could play for a win and he did so. As usual great commentary and variations by Peter.

Kramnik suffering from a bit of apathy after his long and distinguished career I think. He knows what is 'correct' but he also knows that the resulting positions will be dry and equal with very limited chances of winning or even having an interesting game. Thus he plays something else for s***s and giggles but it is Nepo who has all the fun with precise play.

He knows very well that after Berlin there will be no exciting positions and he only hopes and waits for draw. But Jan showed him how to play chess in this game!

there is obvious problem with the recording lately, tech staff should solve this in the future, both audio and video are stuttering too many times

With this win Nepo is actually the highest rated Russian right now. Impressive!

Hard to follow the analysis of this game. Why the weird move Qd7 instead of the simpler Bxc3 and Nf6.

i enjoyed the analysis. however; it was difficult to follow which move they made... what moves continue after..... sequence was missing sir. it look more like a puzzle solving.

I thought Jan in one of his recent vids mentioned chess24 had got (or was getting) a new computer? Or did i imagine that.

too many technical problems for what should be an easy thing to do, record video and audio at the same time. Sort it out C24, very poor

Yeah, I notice that, I believe in round 2 he had very solid position against anish, Am looking at the position live trying work out if pushing d5 and sacrifing the pawn works. Kramnik goes for it. Am thinking great he worked it out! Because I havent. Nope after the pawn was taken he spent a bunch of time for his next move. That tells the story.
