Chess is the only sport I can think of where a player can sit with their opponent straight afterward and do an in-depth analysis of the game they just played. It's really cool and we should see a lot more of it. Next level - use AI to show the position they're discussing in real-time so that us mere mortals can follow along.

It's because there's less/little opening theory and players have to be more independently creative.

Blitz is same just faster, doesn't change the fact people will have like 20 move prep that they will blast out in the begining. In this top level GMs sometimes blunder in the first 3 moves which would never happen in normal chess
