At 25:28, they have this little exchange where Eric suggests playing Re8 if white were to grab the a-pawn with Rxa5, but then Yasser points out that white could just ignore the attack on his queen and just play Ra7 again. (If 1... Rxe7 2. Nxe7+ and white wins back the queen, netting him a full rook)

I'm 1800 player, sometimes I get on my dad's account who's around 1000-1100. Sometimes my dad is playing against a 1200 player and I sit and take his place. I'm astonished at how good the 1200 player is playing and I find myself in a poor position, much like in this video. I start thinking that the game is lost and start coming up with excuses for why I lost to a 1200 player, then suddenly the 1200 player makes a huge mistake that lets me turn the game around. It's funny that even grandmasters hang in there in severely lost positions waiting for the blunder.

Soo what's the difference between 1800 and let's say 2600? They are playing so badly or he's so good or what
@colinmurphy2214
@colinmurphy2214 4 жыл бұрын
Jakub Chłystek as you climb the rating ladder the difference in play quality becomes more subtle. A game by a 2700 would likely only differ from a 2500 in one or two places, while the difference between a 800 & 1000 is much more marked. While the play of Yasser & Eric here is still great, the difference between players at the high percentiles is subtle enough to make it somewhat close with a 1850

@marshalcraft

lot of cheaters with online chess, I don't think it low on time, just that what would the fun be after so long of simply pasting computer moves, so he get himself in good position by the computer, then switch over and start playing on own, prob figures will learn better or some stupid shit, still could of prob forced draw but didn't. Basically the player sucked and was using autopilot then took the controls and fucked it all up.

@@marshalcraft yes. Cheating is a miserable thing. And it's a very clear one in the video as an 1800 can't by any means pose a problem to strong GM's like Yasser and Eric. As we play grandmasters we learn from them not trying to beat them by using engines !!. I see it's an illness

14:40 Is Ne4 (black) not a good idea ? If takes with the pawn then taking the rook because queen is pinned. I fear, this guy did not play himself, it looks so computerized, but if he done, good play. I am so glad, that Yasser and Eric reached my strength of play, i know those positions very well. ;-) But i lose or give up.
