Alireza is not what he used to be. He was arguably a better chess player when he was younger, which is baffling when it comes to chess. You just can't be a top grandmaster while spending time studying something totaly unrelated to chess. It just doesn't work in the long run. The only reason his rating hasn't drop significantly, is because he's barely played chess for the last couple of years. Look like he'll be losing a good deal of rating points once the Isle of Man tournamnet is over. Time will tell.

I am not sure it's a new way to play chess Alireza since the candidates, he played bad chess and was luck to not loose more Fide rating points I was fan of his style 2/3 years ago And suddenly after getting 2800 elo, he decided to work in fashion and stoppee playing top tournaments, mostly In this Grand Suisse, he is struggling in each game and didn't proposed any decent chess...only boring game, I am sorry to say that Chess at the top are not tricks & traps...I hope that Alireza will realize that soon and will take enough to study and practice chess beside the online bullets Get back to Chess Alireza, plz with more humility and more creativity on board🙏

@@douwehuysmans5959the evaluation bar tells me quite a bit, and tells Nakamura quite a bit too, which is why he always uses one in his analysis. It shows the CHANGE in evaluation from move to move. If you are not aware of how engines work and the value of evaluation bars, perhaps look into this. Also, people who don’t speak English or are muting the video can easily scroll through the video and understand easily without the commentary, at least advanced players can do that.
