What I've noticed while watching this series is that Jesse is actually a very strong attacking player. As far as I understand he considers himself a "builder". Perhaps he was a "burner" all along and didn't know it, :)

He is a GM, of course he is a strong attacker, you have to be good at everything to get to that level. That doesnt mean attacking play is his main strength, these games may look very different against opponents of similar strength.

At 0:20, what's the play if after the bishop trade Black plays Qxb2?

you push the e-pawn forward and hope they take the 'free' rook because its completely losing

That... doesn't explain what the line is at all though. This made me curious so I checked the position after Qxb2, e6, Qxa1 on the lichess online engine and the evaluation changes a lot depending on depth (at first it considers it equal, then it seems to go to around +2.5). Anyone with a stronger engine can try at a higher depth. It seems like the critical line after Qxa1, is for White to play Qb3 which simultaneously defends the B-file and counterattacks b7. Any other move loses on the spot. I don't consider this obvious but maybe it is for higher-rated players.

@@7applause653 there are a lot of sacrifices that are possible for white. for example black can push the f-pawn attacking white's bishop on g5 after e6 and white can just ignore it and play knight f3 with an even position. if black takes both the bishop and the rook its losing for black again. black can take the bishop only and its just even because white can block up the kingside making it very difficult to move the pieces without sacrificing material back.
