9:08 I think NC3 is a good move because it forces the move QF1 or QD2 and then after NxF3# you checkmate if QF1 was played and if QD2 was played you fork the king and the queen

You should put the letter of the piece that moves when doing notation, unless it's a pawn. Knights are N (because King is already K) Also an x is added if it's a capture. So the moves are Nc3, Qf1, Qd2, Nxf3

Great game not to take away from the brilliance of Nf4 but Nc3 is a compelling win because the queen is trapped. For example, if Qd2 Nxf3 is a fork and if Qf1 Nxf3 is checkmate.

I have a chess game idea!! *Chess but you cant move your king* -You can't move your king -Castles are aloud -If you are in check you only can Block -If you are in a check and you cant block with anything that will be a lose. *PLAY AGAINST MARTIN*

great vid Nelson, I've never seen a game quite like that; but, with him being forced to retake with the b and g file pawns his Pawn structure was Really bad--so bad that he more or less Boxed in his Own Queen! Something u never want to happen.

Last night I had my best ever blitz game with this exact same opening. It's a fun one when white takes the d pawn.
@matthewparker9276
@matthewparker9276 Жыл бұрын
Nc3 does win the queen, since the only squares she can run to are f8, which is M1, or d2, which invites a royal fork with Nxf3+. White can delay with f6, but after Qxf6 the situation hasn't changed, and now blacks queen in lined up on whites a rook.
@matthewparker9276
@matthewparker9276 Жыл бұрын
However, it's probably not as good as Nf4. Once you win the queen, best for white looks to be Qd1, Nxd1, Rxd1, which activates their rook, and doesn't leave you with a good follow up.
@vovanbalashov
@vovanbalashov Жыл бұрын
But why didn't you like nc3? You attack the queen, he can't go to d2, since nf3+ wins the queen, but if the queen goes to f1, then nf3#!

I didn't know the 2....d6 3.exd6 Bxd6 Englund line had this much sting. Difficult to play, going to have a look at it because my Black d4 repertoire is kind of weak. The amazing symmetry with unbalance at 7:00 is unique, I've never seen that. Even at just a first glance Black MUST be better here. Great game.

When white pushed the pawn to C4, why did you not choose to move the knight to C3? You are safely attacking the queen, and it only has 3 options, all of which win material; if the queen moves to D2, then there is a fork with your other knight on F3 which will become a trade of your knight for a queen if played the best way . If the queen moves to F1, you can check again of F3, and the King is forced to castle long, which will allow you to take the rook in exchange for giving up your knight, and if the queen moves to D1 then you just easily take it with the knight.
@brendanpeters4309
@brendanpeters4309 Жыл бұрын
Note after properly finishing the video; while it more understandable why you didnt do that with the game you played, considering you did not know what the opponent was going to do after that position, would it not have been better to go for the safer, guaranteed-material-winning option?

I'm skeptical about this estimated ratings. I have played games against Martin recently where his was 1,500 or more, although it didn't feel that way when I was playing him. I've had some surprisingly high and low estimated ratings myself that puzzle me more than enlighten me.

it seems that this estimation rating is flawed, because if you play against lower bots it gives you a lower rating than you should get if your opponent has a higher rating you will too. it's wishy-washy to say the least

8:00 Knight C3 wth following threat of knightxF3 - I do not see any way how white does not lose the queen to a horsey or gets checkmated in the process. But that is not classified as a good follow-up? Those are pretty strict standards.
