I am constantly mistreated by nhs doctors, promised appoinments that cost me money in travel to attend only to find appointments were never booked, brushed off as a non priority or just very commonly told i should persue private heathcare for my hereditary breathing issues. I have given up with NHS. Thank you for these videos! they are more help than an NHS doctor has ever given me, and i dont have to wait on the phone for 5 hours just to book an appointment for when i need to be at work, only to be told ill feel better in 6 weeks.

I’m so sorry to hear of your bad experiences, the NHS certainly is in a bad way, (please remember this is the politicians fault, rather than the hard-working staff). On the other hand I’m pleased you’ve found my videos to be helpful. Comments like this do encourage me to continue making more videos! 👍🏻

Looking to start my own KZbin channel in the US like this. I am a nurse. These are great videos. Why is it that people in countries outside the US provide good health advice and even physical therapy progams on KZbin. In the US its usually a health/insurance system and its not very helpful.

During my young years in the UK, I was fooled by my doctors that I need to take antibiotics and other horrible medications which didn't have any improvements on me whatsoever. Once I reached to 20, I asked my doctor are antibiotics and other medications really effective, she just responded ''that's a good question but we recommend you take it''. I didn't. Ever since I moved to Asia back in 2018 at the age of 22, my health has gone far more better than ever and I only take hot water with ginger and lemon and other natural remedies for common cold, flu, cough and got better after few days. The so called ''antibiotics'' or other medications doesn't help, unless if it's serious and is needed to take them. Plus wear mask at most times, to avoid getting sick, it really helps. Excellent video! I now don't have to feel bad about not taking antibiotics even though I didn't want to.

@@TTT-du6oj Some people like to do this and theoretically it can help kill off harmful bacteria, although I’ve not seen convincing evidence to suggest we recommend this to everyone. Rinse or gargle 15 mL 2-3 times a day for 2-3 minutes, to be diluted in half a tumblerful of warm water.

CT Chest A plain high resolution and multiplanar CT of the chest was performed, on a 128 Slice Dual Energy Siemens Definition Edge Scanner. Focal mild right pleural thickening is seen in the lower hemithorax with mild passive and subsegmental atelectasis in the subjacent lung. No other focal or diffuse pulmonary or tracheobronchial abnormality is seen. The lung volumes are R-1.8L/L-1.7L. No hilar or mediastinal masses are seen. The axillary and supraclavicular regions are normal. The rest of the pleural spaces and bony cage are normal. The visualized upper abdominal structures are normal. Remarks: Focal mild right pleural thickening is seen in the lower hemithorax with mild passive and subsegmental atelectasis in the subjacent lung. No fibrosis is seen in the left upper lobe.

It tends to be long term, so definitely worth taking seriously, also it is not just for that individual, but collective resistance of the bugs.

We are what we eat and drink. Plantain herb has helped me a lot. It stopped the pain in my chest from over coughing. Good for a sore throat too. I would recommend people make their own natural cleaning products without the nasties so your lungs are protected. Buteyko is worth looking into. It's amazing how many of us mouth breathe. The nose is a filter that protects our lungs. We need to use it. ♥️🦋🐝♥️

Hi Dr. Sophie, how concerning our side effects of a lot of prescription medications? Doctors in the US don't discuss side effects of prescription meds they put you on and only after reading the paniflex from the pharmacy do you become aware of the serious side effects. As a GP how much of a factor are the side effects you prescribe for your patients? As a patient it' concerning and Most of the time I defer to them as they are the trained medical professional. Is that wise?
@DrSophieGP
@DrSophieGP 2 ай бұрын
All patients should be made aware of common and serious side effects, your physician should explain this and if they haven’t, you can ask them. The leaflets are often more worrying as there are so many side effects listed, no-one would ever take any medication if we worried about it all!
@richardpoland4074

Hi Dr. Sophie, thanks for your reply. I don't think I've ever had a physician discuss side effects unless I bring it up and they tend to be dismissive, kind of defensive, i.e. you can take the medicine or deal withe condition.

I currently have a chest infection a young doctor refuses to give me antibiotics! I’m over 50 get this once a year and antibiotics always clear it! Sometimes you need them! I’ve been coughing 10 days! I walked out on her she was an awful doctor! Have never had to walk out on a doctor in my life! Healthcare is getting worse and worse each year! When the older docs die off Society is screwed !!Told me she wasn’t equipped to look up my nose😮 she told me before she would give me antibiotics I need a chest X-ray!!😮 never in my life been told that! I told her I’d get an X-ray if the antibiotics don’t help me. I told her I know what have and what I need, I’ve had this many times. If this were any different than what usually happens I’d get the Xray. Some of this no antibiotic doctors are actually hurting people! Remember young one, decades ago people died from these chest infections before antibiotics!! I’m going to another doctor. Unfortunately I went to one of those urgent cares, I’ve always gotten good care when I went but this doctor was horrible. She also told me coughing up yellow and green isn’t an infection and blowing out brown isn’t a sinus infection that it’s blood😮 my sinuses are blocked and ears full! She has no business treating sick suffering people! She has zero compassion! You lost me though when you promoted these vaccines that don’t work!

You may have been seen by a Physician Associate rather than a fully qualified doctor. A doctor would get you to do a sputum test to check if your infection is bacterial.

@DrSophieGP 8 ай бұрын
@@sally6074 Yes, could be a PA, but we don’t always do a sputum sample, often we have enough evidence with clinical history and examination. I am going to do a videos about PAs soon though, so watch this space!
@sally6074
@sally6074 8 ай бұрын
@@DrSophieGP This surpises me. I have bronchiectasis & even with this history I have to do a sputum sample before antibiotics. Surely it's the only way to be able to prescribe the correct antibiotics? I wish there was a much faster,easier way too because it nearly always adds a wait of at least an extra week,more often 2. Phone the surgery,find time to collect the test jar, time the sputum just right-not easy- take it back to the surgery before midday or miss that day's collection,wait for the lab results -they don't work over the weekend,doctor sends a text & prescription to the chemist,go to the chemist -when it's open -stand in a queue,collect the prescription. All while you're feeling really unwell. I'm ticking off the gram negative bacteria unfortunately -Bacteria Bingo I call it-Psuedomonas,Klebsiella, Staphylococcus so far. So I 'm very invested in anti-biotic resistance, having experienced it for myself. People have no idea. As they have no idea about PAs either- but I expect they will soon. In my opinion the first thing should be to change their very misleading name to medical assistant. The second thing is to stop paying them more than actual,real qualified doctors! I will look forward to what you have to say about them.
