Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm pleased to announce the next Certified Guitar Player and a fitting partner to Tommy Emmanuel, Mr. Joe Robinson. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Robinson to this very elite and distinguished group of phenomenal guitar players. The crowd goes wild! Standing ovation as Joe takes off with another brilliant tune. Almost every week now, I discover a new [to me] guitar genius on YT - most only known only to a niche audience I guess. Joe is one of the greatest one could see.

Wow. It’s a Chet medley, and yet Joe found a way to put his own tasteful stamp on it. That version of The Entertainer was slick!!

First time I ever heard of this player. Pretty amazing to say the least. The ultimate test is will he be able to arrange his own tunes and make them as amazing and popular as the great Chet Atkins did. It is great to be able to copy someone and even add a little more pazzazz but show us the original stuff and his own arrangements without sounding like anyone else. That will take a life time to accomplish and I wish him all the success. Keep the videos coming.

not sure he has the creativity.. he can take over from Tommy Emmanuel altho TE does actually compose well for guitar unlike Joe - whos own work seems el blando

That's Emil Ernebro first row far right. I think Joe gives him props just as the video ended. I'm sure Joe and Emil have played together at some point before this video. Emil is in Joe's league and a gifted player in his own right.

Yes it's Emil Ernebro to the right in the front row and Filip Jers the harmonica player beside him. And to the left in the front row is Joe's girlfriend. And there were lot of musicians there that Special evening. Joe stayed at Emils apartment when he was here in Sweden and played. Hope this helped you

I don’t think anyone should do a “Chet medley” because only Chet sounded like the guitar was playing itself. Only Chet could play fast and not rushed. Chet was Chet. No one will ever play like that again. So easy. I squirm when I head a “Chet medley” because each tune just makes me miss him.
@chadjustice85603 жыл бұрын
Great player but yet another one who plays anything chet way to fast. I don't understand the need for speed.
@ashdravencrow63283 жыл бұрын
He's a good player but certainly not the best. Watch Tommy Emmanuel's rendition of Chet Atkin's classic medley and let's talk afterwards.

Chet style sounds awful on a bluegrass guitar.The guy is good but is so heavy with the thump you cant hear the treble strings. Slow down also a little. Your going too fast.
