Hello, I’m Joe - I’m a guitar player, singer-songwriter, producer, recording engineer and teacher!
On this channel you’ll find my original songs, covers and solo fingerstyle guitar arrangements. My favorite music doesn’t fit neatly in a box so you may hear me play folk, blues, jazz, & classic rock - you can call it what you want; I feel honored to speak this timeless language of melody, harmony & rhythm.
I was born on May 25th 1991 in Kempsey, NSW, Australia. Since 2010 I have been based in the US and currently live in the Rocky Mountains of Montana with my wife, Genevieve (who teaches illustration on KZbin!).
I play Maton acoustic guitars, made in Australia (just like me) and am very proud to have my own signature instrument, the JR Signature!

Fantastic flat pick application rhythmically singapated with great choice of notes supporting very unique cord changes in a Latin idiom. Such controll & clear execution of notes in key scales with your fretboard fingers from pointer to pinkie then traversing back in the same unified order in an opposite direction. I've got to admit that when I saw "Europa" and "Acoustic" in the title, I was skeptical. My skepticism vanished within seconds of starting the video. Just lovely tone and feel on this, Joe. It's a favorite from my youth, when I spent hours as a teen in the late 1970s trying to learn Santana's phrasing on this tune from *Amigos*, in my family's basement, needle-dropping the LP, and trying to copy what I heard using a cheap electric guitar through a home-made distortion box. Never fully nailed it, but boy was it fun. Your version brought me back, and also brought the song to the present. Bravo! -Tom

Mr. Robinson... I sat and enjoyed this piece so much! I want to thank you for sharing this with us! I play somewhat, but nowhere near as beautiful as this! I sure wish I could! Because if I could, I would never put my instrument down! In my heart and mind, you don't play music. You ARE music! There are many, many very talented musicians in the world, and I would never take anything away from those folks. But only a few are out there who can play like this! I've found something a bit rushy in your improvising style since I started following you years ago as a fan. Maybe it's your favorite style is bebop and your energy too. But this one Joe, it's been a long long time since I heard a song played so beautifully like this: not too much or too little of notes, your touch, phrasing and dynamic as well....everything is balance. I first saw this done live by Tommy and Phil Emmanuel in the mid 80s. There's actually a KZbin video of their entire act performed in a pub, from around that time, which also contains this tune. Tommy does a really nice fingerstyle introduction and Phil joins in with the screaming electric guitar solos. Anyway, this too is also one of the best versions of it I have ever heard.
