Found this video after getting a Nov-Mu V2 and looking into getting another FFL. I agree that they are the best lights on the market right now although hearing from someone who actually knows what they're talking about is nice!

The NOV-MU-2 is the best mule you can buy, based on a single cell for fill-light photography, particularly the more neutral 4500K E21As. On its sustainable level, it's also just a great general close-up work light.

X1S However Now that You've had X1S for awhile Now as Being Yours @ 4000K...If It Were NOW..would You Now have Gone Up In K,..a bit More?,..= Lets Say Just a Bit Cooler = a brighter White ..=Say anywhere between 5000K and 65000K?

Those are all amazing lights I can honestly seeing myself buying each one of those choosing the color's is the hardest decision and yes I'm going to the website to buy me a new light rite now 😂. I haven't been this excited about a new flashlight for some time now. Awesome video.

Excellent review! I have the original NOV-Mu and absolutely love it. Use it with the shorty tube and 22430 battery as one of my bedside lights. Aux leds on low are perfect for finding in the dark, also can tell the charge with a glance. The button doesn't bother me but I can see how the newer recessed one would be better, as well as the charging port. Just dont think thats enough to justify an upgrade for me

I went with Comet with 4000k 351a’s (love rosy) and stellar with sft25r (just wanted max output). Also got the Helios with 707a with 4000k. Haven’t reached me yet but should be here on Friday this week!

Hi, I am trying to decide if I should pick up the mule or use a Stellar with lantern or bounce it off the ceiling. I want to use it as a indoor light in 1800K. What I don’t know if I place the mule on a table if it blinds me and therefore must be placed higher than my eyes. What are your thoughts? BTW love your videos!

I'm confused about the magnet. You can add "extra PVD black magnet tailcap" so its going to be black in color so only for the black one or it wont match? It doesn't come with a magnetic tailcap?

Yes, it doesn’t come with a magnet. You need to add it. I think you might be correct about it not matching which does seem odd.

​@@cheuleThey redid the site. Red now comes with black magnetic tail cap as default. Why would they put a black tail cap on the red flashlight? Not sure but I planned to get the white MAO with black tail cap and the ffl351a 3700k. Since the button and bezel is blackish. I found a 10% off coupon but was hoping they'd send me a 15%. No response from them.

I have a NOV-Mu V2 in fossil gray and it's such a beatiful flashlight and the E21A 4500k I got are as rosy as yours (I tested it with my Opple). My first mule and I love it. The only downside I can think of is that the tailcap has to be ridiculously tight (like the KR4) and that the edge of the light has a greenish tint, but that's not that significant.

@@elmeme88 Replace the o-ring with a thinner one. They are way better with a thinner o-ring. Jack should definitely go that route.

@@elmeme88 You're going to hate this answer, but I use my extra Emisar D4K orange o-rings and they work perfectly. Just tight enough to seal, but not tight enough to be a pain in the ass.

@@sunstream9000 Well, I actually have a D4K, but I think because it's the Ti versión, the O-ring just broke, it snapped. I guess I'll just have to tight the tailcap and/or clean the threads with alcohol like someone suggested me.

Hi ! What version of E07X do you have? On the Fireflylite website I only see the option to order the version with "25 degree optics". Have you tested one? How is it different from the 10 degree version? Which one do you recommend?

25 degree is much less throwy, and more floody.

The lights shown here have the "10 degree" optic, you can tell because the each individual tir is large while on the 25, each individual tir is small. The original "10 degree" is not suitable when used with FFL emitters (at least), and the result is actually more spill and an unfocused hotspot. Firefly fixed this permanently with the "25 degree" which is more compatible with their emitters. The mcpcb led orientation has also been improved, so you will have a cleaner beam with less artifacts than the lights shown here. A canon shown here may be defective- to address the problem, firefly mailed out shaved-down 10 degree optics to bring the FFL emitters closer and better into focus (25 optic doesn't fit the mcpcb). If this repair step was not done to this (likely preorder) model shown here, then it's out of focus. TLDR: You can only get the 25 degree, and it throws just as much.

@@MrAl0n I'd probably go with the 5000k FFL for a pure white, but the other ffl emitters are nice too. Be aware that the "4000k rosy" shown here is actually 3500k and more of a peach color, while the current batch of "4000k rosy" is cooler at 4000k and even more magenta tinted, that's very subjective if it's a good or bad thing but i think it's too pink and others love it.

I rarely do candela measurements, instead I mostly rely on real-world testing (how does it look at 150m?) I’ll occasionally do it (like for the recent Prowess video)

I ordered the EO7 X Cannon I hope I like it. I’ve been subscribed to ur channel for a while it’s a definite bummer when you base ur purchase off of someone’s utube channel opinion get the light and be disappointed..I have a ton of olights among them 3 seeker 4 pros I compare them with my nitecore E4K witch I love it has a great ui best in the business in my opinion..I hope you led me down a good path with the EO7 so it leads to future purchases like the e12r,sold out at the moment but if I like this x cannon will get the e12r to see how it does against my marauder mini..sounds like when u mention jack over there at fireflies he would be local my light is shipping out of china??

Hi, thanks for the review and the look at these flashlights - what they differ in and how to tell them apart. I must say that I have a mixed feelings about this one. I have somewhere around >170 flashlights and headlamps, and it does seem to me that it's contraproductive that they took the time and money to fine tune the aluminum body, to put blackened INOX bezel on it, to pick the bins of the LEDs, and then they just use the cheapest optics a flashlight can have - TIR optics, that is generally well known for huge luminous losses, bad heat sinking, they are prone to melting at higher powers and/or if some debris gets inside, and they also do heavy CCT shifting. Moreover most of these distributed TIRs where there is more optics in one assembly, they really project significant maps and rings, which confuse the user. Does this one also do the artifact projecting ? I would say it's chassis and engine of a Mercedes-benz, but transmission from a Dacia... At least they got the thumb switch for comfortable operation, Andúril 2.0, magnetic tailcap option, and onboard USB. They always make a nice combo.

I have an X1S and the light is nice but it has a horrible blue dot in the center of the beam. It sits in a box because that makes it unusable.

I’d imagine the scratch resistance is the same. But the darker color would probably resist smudges more. MAO is a pretty fragile coating. If you want durability, definitely avoid it.

These use lume1 drivers, so they should be as efficient as Emisar lights with boost drivers, but more efficient that Emisar lights with linear or FET drivers.

@@cheule how about the thermal regulation? Do they still get blazing hot even on mid to higher levels? I understand that is generally the nature of the beast, but I feel like some lights are better at it than others

​@@youtubeuser5424 That depends on the thermal limit you set in Anduril. Stock that is 55°C afaik, but you can lower it if you want. They definitely get hot on turbo (FET mode) but can sustain high mode when held in hand pretty easily (E07x)

When it comes to these emitters, I'll also give a nod to JLHawaii here. If you want any of Hank's lights with these new FFL emitters, Jackson's shop is the place to go. FFL's new lights are great too. I have an E12C with the FFL351A 4000K (Rosy), and I'm definitely eyeballing that NOV-Mu.

I just bought a Convoy M21J which I though was a killer deal for a SBT90.2 light with a TIR at only $53, that hasn't even gotten here and now I'm ordering more lol
