Thank you so much for making this video! It was EXACTLY what I needed to repair my 1964 Fuelie Corvette fuel pump! Never had one apart, so I had no idea what I was doing until I found your video. Now I’m an expert! Great job!

Thanks for the great video, nice and easy to follow instructions. Would you please put a link to the repair kit shown in your video? Couldn't make out the details when the video was paused. Thanks!

Two comments: Compress the lever that rides on the cam pushrod before tightening the screws. This will allow the diaphragm to compress evenly. Also be careful about how much you torque those screws. They can strip out if you use an electric screwdriver,

Good idea for settling the diaphragm in! Obviously, you don't want to crank out the 1/2" impact wrench to tighten the screws. By hand is just fine. :-)

@@gmcevoy Thanks. Just rebuilt mine and had these findings. My hand hex driver was in another garage and so I used my electric screwdriver. Bad news, but I found longer screws that I could put in and tighten. Also be sure you do not pinch and damage the diaphragm rubber when putting in the screws.

Great video. Very good info on the rebuild. I'm looking to rebuild the pump for my boat motor, if I can find the parts kit. It's a 1985 Chevy 2.5 liter 4 cylinder.

Thank you, Randy! I am certain you will be able to lay your hands on a suitable parts kit. Try www.rockauto.com/ They usually have what you need. Good luck!

@@gmcevoy thanks! I have not looked at Rockauto, I will try them.

Not entirely sure, there are a few models available. I would suggest doing a quick search on the web, you should find the various possibilities in a shop near you, depending on where you are located.

I can't say that I was. Did I miss something? Because the car really liked its rebuilt fuel pump...
