Budget 1963-1967 Corvette Interior Restoration. How to Freshen Up Your Worn Interior.

Welcome to my KZbin channel. This channel is the home for all your vintage Mid-Year Corvette content. In today's video I disassemble, clean, dye, and restore the interior of a 1963 Corvette on a budget. I install a heat and sound barrier kit, new carpet, nice door panels, I dye the dash/ dash pads, a new arm rests, a fresh gauge cluster, new wiring, and more to make the interior feel like new. You don't have to break the bank to have a nice interior and you don't have to live with a ratty interior in a driver quality car.
I just finished restoring a 1963 Corvette Split Window and I am starting another split window build but this time its a race car build. I will be making videos every Friday. I will be making videos on my 1963 Corvette Split Window, my dad's 1965 Corvette, my race car split window build, my friends 1960 Corvette, and other projects that I find along the way. You did it again, made it look easy. My next project will be to replace the radio speaker cover. A previous owner made 2 holes in it. Any pointers for its removal? The white 63 is looking very sharp, it sits good and sounds beautiful. This summer went way too fast it's almost time tuck them in tight for a nap. As usual great job and fantastic video. There's a few hex nuts on the underside holding it on. I had my glove box and clock removed already when I pulled mine out which made it very easy. Glove box for getting my arm in there and clock so I can see inside. You may be able to do it without removing them but you would have to lay upside down to see up behind the dashboard.

That’s a good way to put it. It is a very practical type restoration so it will be a very functional car that you don’t have to be afraid to use.

Timely video, Mitch. I'm planning to redo the interior and replace the factory ac with a VA unit in my 67. Your carpet job looks great. I noticed you got glue (3m I think) overspray on pieces you'd already glued down. Did you have to remove it or does it dry un-noticeable? Thanks for another great diy video! Looks AWESOME!

I believe it came from corvette America. Al knoch also makes great kits.

Looks great. How long did it take you to do all that? Whenever I start anything with my 63 I think it'll be quick but end up being completely wrong.

Good job Mitch , on a 63 steering colum do you have to undo it in the engine compartment ?

Thanks Bob. Yep I did have to disconnect it from the steering box. We put a borgeson box and a flaming River steering column. So it was a bit custom but it was the same concept as a stock column install.
