I just figured it out with all those batteries located in one spot and all that weight that’s why the earth is tilting. Love the videos keep them coming.

Nice video. Heaters are great dump loads they only care about voltage, they could care less about AC/DC 😃. Long as they can handle the current you are good. I’ve thought of using a small water heater as well. (Pre heater) for the main heater.
@GoingOffGrid1017 жыл бұрын
yes I use the power from the inverter to run the heater.

I’m very interested in seeing you hook in up to the Magnum and to see what kind of BMS you’ll use!
@GoingOffGrid1017 жыл бұрын
Bms are on the way for these volt batteries :)

Can the black battery's configured to run on a 48 volt system
@dwfdwf53717 жыл бұрын
Are you going to monitor the temperature of the batteries or do you think it is not going to be a problem?

were do you get this stuff. wish batteries were much cheaper.

Awesome BMS? cooling water? I'm playing with 18650 but they need a lot of babysitting. What about the dump load to your water heater or hottub :) in the summer.

im looking at the batrium bms system, or my cheapo bms im already using. the dump load will be change to my hot water heater soon!

exactly fire hazard waiting to happen. seen it already . also running no bms and you will soon find out that cells are getting toasted overcharged . Its a known fact without so lithium may seem like a good animal but in the long run it will fail in LESS than 5 years where even plain lead and other lead VLRA types will be smiling for 15 + years . Its proven technology . Lithiums dont last and many mechanics see these batteries toast in electric cars 2 years period by the truck load , so wasting time with them is ridiculous . Not practical to the wallet as many know ..lots of waste dream dream dream smoke another musk.

What did the yard charge you for the battery pack from a Chevy Volt and is it a more cost effective source if you are willing to do the work?
@GoingOffGrid1016 жыл бұрын
they don't let you pull a high voltage battery out most the time, I paid 1000 for mine.

Hello how are you ? I have an question where you buy it ? In france i dont find this battery. Thank you very much
@jimyep99717 жыл бұрын
why not a hot water tank as dump load,

I have been using a whole battery plus 2 more modules for over a year and these cells do not need bms
@GoingOffGrid1016 жыл бұрын
yes you are right as long as they are in good condition they do not need a bms, the problem is after years of use like my batteries, they will get less and less reliable and need a bmd for safety, I would even use a bms on new lithium as well as they overcharge so easy.

yes this way needs some fine tuning, I have not finished it yet.

Please keep your units straight. Kilowatts represent power--the battery's capacity is in kilowatt hours.
@GoingOffGrid1017 жыл бұрын
when tesla is introducing their new 100D model S they do not say it has a 98Kwh they say powered by a 98 kw battery.
@chrisstoddard11447 жыл бұрын
Link me to where they say that. Light bulbs are rated in watts. The energy to light the bulb is in watt hours. My Volt can draw as much as 60 kW when I'm accelerating. Since it has a 16.5 kWh battery it would be drained in 16.5/60 hours at that rate.

Sorry I butted in to someone else's comment and for doing it so rudely. It's an interesting look at the battery in my car and I appreciate the time you took for it. Peace out.

turning a dump load on for heat, not to bad but maybe you turn that heat into some money lots of people doing that bitcoin mining you can make a rig to mine bitcoin and the heat off the video cards can heat your room at same time its free power from sun and wind turn into cash there lots of youtuber video's on that ... love to get my hands on some of them batteries! nice setup mate
