Thanks for this video. My timing belt was replaced yesterday at my dealership and it was quite an expensive service as well. I just wanted to see the procedure and now I know why it was so costly. You must first remove a lot of stuff before you could start with anything else.🤪

Thanks for letting me and everyone else know about the timing marks alignment; it may take two rotations to line up. I just finished my job on my 2005 Chevy Aveo and was concerned because I had them lined up during the whole process, but when I torqued on the belt tightener the marks moved. I feel better now; thanks for the good video.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong put everything in time rotate the motor around twice by hand and the cams are off by a tooth

Good video, I know the queation can sound stupid, but I have a 2008 Aveo 5 1.6L, I found timing belt loose some tooths so is cranking but no starting, so my question is , when I put new belt I just have to align the marks or I have to do something else like find Top Dead Center on cilinder 1, is my first timing belt I'm doing, thanks

I got my tensioner and water pumps replaced and the timing belt was set correctly with the markings showing at their right places. But my check engine light has come on and the OBD code says P0340. What could be the problem?

I had to bump start engine to get harmonic balancer bolt off, once the pulley was off, I reinstalled the bolt, but could only manually turn crankshaft so far, before it got stuck. Any way to get the crankshaft unstuck so I can manually turn engine and line up the timing marks?

River Browning don't have to but it would be recommended since the seals are inexpensive. It would be a real pain if you did a timing belt job to then later have to take everything back apart because your cam seals are leaking

Lol. Is that air intake hose repair as universal as the crappy timing belts on these cars. Mine cracked too. Same spot... I went with self sealing shrink tape. The flame duct tape is a nice choice. Style! Seriously though, PEOPLE; ... if you know or see anyone driving one of these cars, take a second, let them know about and stress the importance of this necessary timing belt replacement! I Dont care what the recommended mileage is, Dont go over 40,000 miles. It's much cheaper than a valve job. I'll stop people I Dont even know. I probably come across as a weirdo but I've been there. It's not fun or cheap.

Now I could be wrong about this but it seems like aveo’s don’t have notorious timing belt issues, but with everything else on it, it’s like good luck.
