That is a temporary fix. Find the bundle of ground wires near the starter and repair the corrosion. There is a bundle of about 7 or 8 black wires some large some small bolted to a transmission bolt closed to the starter. This corroded bundle of wires is the main cause of all the wiring issues with Cobalt's and G5's.

yeah. my g5 started to get this issue a week ago. my dash cluster would go crazy. trans would shift hard. power steering would go. traction control light comes on

Wasted way too much time blabbering on about nothing. It's ok advice but please save us all the headache and time and just get to the point. Plus the video just bouncing arounð the engine compartment was hard on the head. Was like a 5 year old with adhd was holding your phone.

Booo, dude fix it RIGHT!!! There are other issues that can come up IF it's not done CORRECTLY!!! These things have shitty grounds. The wires are most likely connected BUT the wire or wires are probably loose in the connector, even though they look OK. They need to be redone, correctly!!! There is a ground located on the corner of the head across from the fuse box. There is another bundle of smaller wires down on the transmission, somewhere below the the radiator hose. GM did a shitty job, on these grounds, they didn't make them reliable for the life of the vehicle. I would either undo that cheap crappy connector, unbend them, trm the wire if it has any corrosion, clean the eyelet where wires go, tin the wire(s), put heat shrink over BEFORE recrimping connector on, then solder entire joint, then slide heat shrink up and shrink it down Or Find a better connector, and do the same procedure. The Lug with multiple small wires, I'd probably split them off into 3 different connectors, same procedure as above, and bolt them back where they were. IF wires are corroded, I'd trim them back to good wire put 2 wires in 1 butt connector, then have larger wire coming out other side, and put an eyelet on the side that's getting bolted on, doing same procedure of soldering. Then put star washers in between reach eyelet.

no, the engine and transmission core brains are deliberately holded in a PLASTIC frame because there is risk of fryingthem if the battery post ground become loose
