I know it does not address cleaning the other orifices at the top of each runner, but at least it helps clear the center orifice without removing the entire intake. Search... The PC port is in the intake manifold and has ports that lead to each of the intake ports. They must be cleaned if clogged.

Hello, do you know if the oil filler neck, on the valve cover, unscrews and comes out on a 2015 Equinox 2.4L, or if it needs to be replaced when the valve cover is replaced? If you dont know thats ok, just looking through service info and cant find anything about it.

Awesome video. I keep my Equinox maintained with full synthetic oil and laser iridium spark plugs and all that. I’m going to be doing this to my suv soon and I would like to do a coolant change as it’s at 92K miles already. Do you have a coolant change video for the equinox? I do want to add a catch can to the equinox to catch the blow by. I have a dual catch can on my car but it’s a big turbo car so I change my oil every 2,000 miles but I thought it was funny that you mentioned adding a catch can as no one really does that for an equinox.

You should join the forums. You will see catch can posts a lot. The catch can is super popular with the equinox and terrain. I never heard of one till I bout my equinox. I don’t have a coolant change video yet. I will probably be doing one next summer. I ran out of time this year with too many video requests.

Had my cel come on in my 2015 equinox 71k miles before I popped the hood to check everything. I used my obd scanner and it gave me a p0014 code. Camshaft B code First time a I've ever gotten a cel in the car. Though i noticed no signs of loss of power any surging or signs of the car wanting to stall. I then go to check under the hood to test my sensors and find the pcv tube completely off the intake box and residual oil stains around it. I cleaned it popped it back in and cleared the code the code (this all happened within a 24hr span) cel hasn't come back on yet but could that have caused a cel and should I replace it entirely?

The pcv hose coming off will not activate your CEL. I’ve modified mine with a catch can and the cheap hose it came with keeps popping off but I never have a CEL. how firm did the connector click into place? If it’s loose enough to come off again it would beneficial to replace the hose. As for your P0014 code, I would suggest removing both vvt solenoids and cleaning them like I did in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4vCgHpmgbeCj7M I hope this helps. The breather hose you pulled off at 2:19 has a rubber part. On mine the rubber part spins on the hose and when i sprayed it out with cleaner it even leaked from the rubber part and ran down the side of the hose. Is that normal? Will that cause a vacuum leak?

That could cause a vacuum leak if the rubber is too loose. Amazon has the whole hose with fittings and rubber for very cheap. I bought a replacement last year and replaced the whole hose. Hope this helps. Please like and subscribe

I think I have a vacuum leak and wanted to use a smoker to determine it. If I connect the smoker hose to the port on the crankcase will that be the best place to use the smoker hose or do you recommend another location?

No they won’t. The original pcv line collects water and it freezes after the vehicle is not running. The catch can collects that water keeping the hoses dry. So the contents in the can may freeze but the hoses stay free of water

I recently had a $1500 repair bill because the cold caused a pressure build up that i guess broke my pcv valve. The mechanic made it sound like theres nothing i can do and it'll just happen again if it gets cold like that. Is there nothing i can do to prevent this? I ran my car cold so could letting it warm up help? If i just didnt run it at all during extreme cold would that prevent it?

That sounds like a lazy mechanic or an uneducated one. I would find a better trained mechanic. As for preventing this from happening in the future I would follow the steps in my pcv cleaning video to clean the small pcv hole in the intake manifold. It will keep your hose clear. Also when temperatures start to drop you can perform a pcv test to see if your pcv system is clogged. All you need for the test is some duck tape and a screw. If you’ve failed the pcv system you need to clean the small hole in the intake manifold as it is most likely clogged. My 2017 just took a shit due to that massive freeze last week....the PCV froze, the rear main oil seal blew out and my poor daughter ran it dry of oil......$8300 for a reman motor. It's in Oklahoma and I'm here in SoCal, what can I do?? basically pay the man and try not to think about it. I had that car serviced at a GMC dealership just months ago....there has to be a way to prevent this from happening again.

That's just the clean air side, to finish cleaning the PCV system you have to pull the intake manifold and make sure the PCV orifice hole is not clogged up

There is no valve to change. And replacing the hose will not fix anything. You have to clean the hole in the manifold

Best we can do is move forward and maintain our vehicles the best we can. Also the whining about gm is getting a little stale now. If someone hates gm that much then maybe trade in for a different brand.

Dang man I redone the engine in my equinox, soaked and cleaned the head in kerosene but did not clean the pcv like you did, main rear seal leak immediately, I thought I messed up the rear main seal when i installed it, pulled engine replaced seal, BOOM another rear main seal leak. Ima have to pull this engine up again this time fixing the pcv first, then replace another rear main seal, or maybe I could reseat this one? I dont know Ima bout to just junk it over this, biggest piece of junk chevy I ever owned!
