Pro tip: after bleeding the m/c, replace the cap on the reservoir. It will not leak while reattaching your brake lines.

I had changed out my master cylinder 3 years back and then last year I had to replace it because the new one messed up and I thought about doing this conversion but at the time did not want to fool with it. This master cylinder after a year has already started messing up so I ordered the exact Dorman master cylinder same part number from Amazon and it was fairly cheap. I also bought that adapter from Advance Auto parts but it was $7.99 I believe before tax. It is well worth it. As a matter of fact as I'm typing this my master cylinder will or should be in Monday 4/22/24 and I already have the bleeder kit. I also use line wrenches or some people call them flare wrenches to prevent any rounding off of the nuts. I'm glad you showed me how to bend those lines because I have seen people take them off completely and reroute them all some kind of wonky way and it looks like crap but your lines still look really good and I never thought about putting my hand were the coiled part is and pushing down as I'm bending backwards on the lines to get them to line up. No pun intended. I'm glad you showed that and for anybody who is wanting to do this from what I heard it makes your brakes react so much quicker and you don't have so much pedal travel at all plus you don't have the spongy or squishy brakes that these '90s model OBS trucks came with literally from the factory. It's definitely worth it here where I live in Alabama because I live in an area that's considered the black belt which means these group of cities in a particular area in Alabama that is some of the best hunting so yes with that said there are a lot of deer that come out at night. I make about a 30 minute drive two and from work so an hour in total and just coming from work to home I could easily see 30 something deer if I count them so you have to be very careful and if you ever do have to hit the brakes having this upgraded mod will definitely make your brakes react a lot quicker so you can stop quicker to avoid an accident.

Is there a reason why you don't put a dab of white grease on the booster rod? Unnecessary? Also, do they make an adaptor that is made of steel rather than brass, or is that also unnecessary? Lastly, VERY nice job, taking that extra step to clean and paint the booster was awesome. I need to do this with my 1999 K1500 Suburban and it looks like I might be able to do it myself!

Yes . I just did this swap based on this prior video . Definite big improvement even without bleeding the system . Be care when bleeding the brakes to not get air into the abs unit . A special diagnostic tool is needed . I did get air into the abs and it was 135.00 to bleed the abs at the mechanics

@@daviddickerson3608 You can do it without the special tool. I did and mine work great, just crack the lines at the ABS unit. You might then need to test drive and engage ABS and then re-bleed but it was easy for me.
