My Dads been gone for 22 years but I keep up his 95 heavy half clubcab , he loved that truck and so do I. Just got the ac working again but the switch only blows on high so I ordered a new one from Amazon which cost me 100 bucks Canadian not bad, imagine my surprise when I pulled the old unit out and it was completely different???🤯 I was getting ready to send it back when I started reading about the wiring harness adapter kit, I found a new one for under $50 and it’s on its way. Finding a good info video on how to make it work is another challenge till I saw yours, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, you put a lot of effort into this and as you can see from the comments we all appreciate what you have done! I can’t wait to get at it once that harness shows up, it will be a breeze thanks to you, great job!👍

Thank you for the comment at the time that I put out this video no one had made an adapter harness but as time has passed they have become available from eBay amazon ect. @@LowLifeYonkes The stupid thing now is the fan still blows only on high, there must be a relay somewhere malfunctioning. May have to just replace the fan, one way of keeping your truck like new 🤣

I’ve known for years 1995 was the worst year for so many reasons and even warned buddies about it. But I bought one anyway because the price was right. So now I get to learn all the different 95 only things I didn’t know already. Great video I will save this for when I get to my ac rebuild not sure if have controller issues yet

Ok this saved me a ton, i dont have rear defrost so i just did not use that part of the diagram. It worked. I have a extra white wire on block 2? No idea why. Dont care it worked great and thanks bro for the video.

I have some questions I can't find any solid answers to. I actually own a 1995 C1500 4.3 with manual transmission that mu uncle bought brand new I believe in 1994 rolled right off the show room floor then it went to my grandparents and then I got it so we have had it it's entire life. I am wanting to know some answers of what I will need to do to put the 94 square dash in to my truck and get rid of the round dash I see alotttt of people going to round but not backwards like I would like to. I found your video because I thought I finally found a conversion to connect to the old style 94 AC, also wanted to point out that I have a 1995 that came factory with the newer style controls that you are showing except doesn't have the round button for defrost just wanted to also throw that out there that mine is completely original 95 with that newer style one.

Ok first question if you would like to switch the old style square dash I would get the wiring harness from the donor truck ur taking it from and that should take care of ur issue that in my opinion would be the easiest or if ur handy with wiring you can get the wiring diagram and trace most of your wires and convert to old style connectors and I also have a 95 short bed signal cab that I just did the ac control module and it doesn’t have the defrost button I might put up the wiring I did for it just have found the time to make anymore videos ur not the first one to ask for it hopefully I can get to it soon

Best place to get is the junk yard just make sure it a 96-98 truck, tahoe, suburban it will work I didn’t post the wire colors because they have changed over the years but the pins remain the same thank you for supporting my channel I appreciate it bro 👍🏼

Ok so if you currently have no ac u need to find out if you have the wiring for it if you don’t have wires for ac I would go to a junk yard and get all the wiring you need to make it work you would have to trace it all back to the fuse block and take what you need that would be the fist step if that’s too much for you to handle I would recommend an ac shop to help you out thanks for watching 👍🏼

Yea so basically I took out the out a/c unit out of my 95 cut the wiring from that unit and got a used 1 from the junkyard and also cut that wiring going to the a/c unit and made my own wiring harness to adapt to the new style 96-98 a/c unit

The best thing you can do is go to the junkyard and take out the wires u need but you need to label them first

the control panel on my 98 has 3 plugs but it only has 2 buttons which are ac and circulation. the right knob has flow direction and 2 defrost posigions. well the plug on the left side where your defrost button is that clip broke so i cant plug it in. however as i took a closer look theres nothing inside the panel where it clips in its empty. im confused cause my ac and heat all works so is it possible that the 98 panel got switched witn an older panel and that left harness was just clipped there but non functional??

There are 2 different ac consoles 1 with defrost and the other 1 with no defrost I know how to wire the 1 without defrost as well I just haven’t gotten around to making a wire diagram yet I will post it soon I have gotten this question many times before so I’ll post it when I can thanks for the question and for watching

You need the entire power window harness that comes with the power seats wiring it is behind the dashboard it has to be removed to access all the wiring then you can convert

@@jasonperez6388 you just need the power window & power seat harness its all in 1 if you lucky you can also have keyless entry its all in 1 harness plug and play u will also need some fuses and relays the plug in ur truck u can take everything you need from a junk yard truck

If those pins are empty you will have a problem with the defrost on the back window
