In the world of Chevy street performance, as well as racing, the number 427 is legendary. .Going back to 1965, 427 cubic inches under the hood has been synonymous with performance, both on and off the track. Whether on a drag strip, an oval circle track or in a street-driven muscle car, 427 cubic inches means serious performance. The 7.0L (427 cid) LS7 from Chevrolet Performance is no exception to that rule.
The current LS7 is the standard engine in the high-performance ZO6 Corvette. Designed to race and win, Chevrolet Performance engineers extracted Big Block power from its high-revving small-block package. It features a unique, big-bore (4.125") cylinder block, forged steel crankshaft, ultra-light titanium connecting rods, and coated pistons. The cylinder heads are works of art. The CNC-ported aluminum heads use 2.200" titanium intake valves and 1.610" sodium-filled exhaust valves in a 70cc chamber to produce a 11:0 static compression ratio. Pretty impressive for a street-driven production car! The unique LS7 cylinder heads are fed by equally large intake runners in the factory-designed EFI intake manifold.
The Chevrolet Performance LS7 7.0L crate engine package includes a complete production-style engine with the dry sump oil pan. You'll need to supply an oil tank and external oil lines to complete the dry sump oiling system. These items are not included in the engine package. The factory ZO6 oil lines and oil tank are designed to fit the Corvette chassis only, and are unlikely to fir your application.
Like all LS-design engines, the Chevrolet Performance LS7 requires an engine controller to get your project running. Chevrolet Performance engineers have developed a complete engine controller kit for the LS7 that includes our E-67 electronic control module (ECM), electronic throttle pedal assembly, mass air flow sensor, a pair of oxygen sensors and a complete wiring harness to connect it all. The Chevrolet Performance harness has factory-style connectors, and is individually labeled for easy installation.
The LS7 comes with a water pump and crank pulley, but does not include the factory FEAD (front end accessory drive). Chevroelt Performance offers different configurations of LS-designed FEADs to accommodate specific chassis applications. Check the Chevrolet Performance catalog for dimensional listings of the assembled kit for fitment into your project vehicle.

Is there a factory performance variant of the vortec block (4.8-5.3)? Maybe a performance trim package for a truck with any special intake, heads, cam, tune, valvetrain, rods, Pistons, ect... Or have they always been a base engine.

@@SamM-qk9xo not a fucking joke at all. POS LS7 engine in my 427 had bearing failure. 12 grand. had to take it to a Vette specialist cause Chevy has no fucking clue what they're doing. all chevy does is sit around all day and give you the run around. fucking jack offs.
