How come the Silverado is a trim package on the GMT400 C/K Pick-up trucks from 1975-1998 model years

It was the higher end trim package of those models during that era before it took on the Silverado name across the lineup

How reliable are the engines? do they normally lasts 100k, 200k, 300k+ miles?

With proper maintenance, absolutely! I've seen many a used Silverado on Craigslist with 300K plus miles

My 2012 5.3 got 200,000 towing all its life, had it refurbished by Jasper and it’s at 234,000 no problem. Torque converter blew at 233,000 but I just replaced the trans
