I have a 2002 GmC Sierra 5.3 this past summer I went to my dealership and bought a set of platinum for $93 and following the info from that sticker I n my truck I opened the gap to 0.60 this is before I found this info, but on some occasions I can feel a slight miss and some vibrations at idle this is probably the cause so now in the dead of winter im deciding on weather to go buy iridium plugs or jus regap the platinum ones 🤦🏿🤔

I'll look into the iridiums for my 2000 silverado 4.8L with 200k on it Runs fine I've replaced them a couple times But it's been maybe 10 years I ain't changing them again till the Spring though Too cold to mess with now Thanks for the info

Yea, I run 41-110 Iridium in the '06 4.8 and they are fine. I hate working in the cold for sure.

So, I have 2 sets of the NOS Acdelco 41-985 iridium spark plugs which is the number the engine had from new and were gapped at .060 from the factory. When I use these in my 2006, should I still gap these to .040??

NO don't change the gap on those plugs. They have a longer electrode it you regap them it will mess them all up. I'd run them at .060" or get 41-162 or 41-110 at .040". You can check the 41-985 against the new plugs I could be wrong/crazy, but they are different on the electrode.

@@MattsShop Looking at my book also, for 41-985 number does show to gap at .060, but that book is from 2006 LOL. The original gap spec was .060 from GM when the truck was new. Didn't know if something changed from GM with that spec, but I am assuming the .040 gap spec came from the redesigned spark plugs design change.

NGK still makes AC Delco's spark plugs.That style plug,leave the gap alone and install.Will damage the little tip

I went through a car wash with my 2001 Silverado 1500 5.3L V8 and the service engine was flashing at me I already knew I have a code it’s the knock sensor but instead of it regularly staying lit it started to flash and my truck was jerking I don’t know if it was the air dryer shaking the truck or a bigger problem. It blinked for maybe 10 seconds. Any guesses.

Matt please I need help with suggestion if you can. I changed my oil today and now my chevy suburban 2002 wont start. After I changed the oil it started right up as normal then died and now wont start any ideas?

Shopping list ordered!! Any info on air bag light coming on and notice in instrument info center about air bag needing service? 2004 2500HD 6.0L. This is new and just recently in past days come on.

Its the air bag sensor. There's two in the front most likely. I read the scan tool and it tells me which one. They are very expensive new if OEM.

A larger Gap is harder on the ignition coils as well.

My 2003 buick century called for .060 and I gapped my new plugs to .045 Seemed to have a lot more get up and go at lower speeds...

My Audi A4 2.0t will misfire like crazy under boost if you gap any larger than 030. I install them at 025 since they expand after running for a while.

No, look up the spark plugs for that truck and run whatever they are out of the box. This is only for 1999-2007 4.8 and 5.3 V8.

Uncle's Silverado (09) radio and blinker sounds only work intermittently as do the headlights. Cant find problem because they work sometimes, any ideas? Please help

@marknicolich5789 The one I see behind block looks ok, no frays. But the wire cases that keep the bundles together have deteriorated over the engine. I don't see any bare wires but I often smell burnt plastic
