2013 Chevrolet Traverse, I was able to change out spark plugs without removing intake manifold. Only had to remove purge solenoid valve to be able to remove #6 coil. It was easier than I expected replacing all six spark plugs. Good video though.

Excellent break down Hektor, I own an 10' Traverse and was quoted around $700 to get plugs done and was not ready to shell that out for plugs and am glad that I found your video! I was a bit worried on popping the intake before seeing this coming from the older cars (older V8 and such) where that means dumping the coolant, this is not to bad. Hey you should also include torque specs for the job and the proper bolt pattern for righting everything back on. Everything else is great. But you almost never see videos where they tell you the torque specs or bolt pattern for the job thier doing. That would excellent for you to incorporate that into when your putting it back together.

Kevin W Chapel Jr Sounds pricy, an OE cool will run you about $100 plus the labor to remove and replace the intake manifold which is about 2.5 hours labor at shop rate ($100-$150/hr) and the intake gasket. $350-$400 sounds about right 👍🏼 $70 even better 🙌🏼

@@HomieHektor i have a question .. Ihave a 11 chevy traverse iwas leaving my brothers house one day and car stalled turning out of neighborhood and had no power. I would step on gas pedal and didnt want to go past 10mph, RPM climbed but wouldnt run.. My engine light came on traction control and other lights icant remember. Anyways ichanged my alternator, fuel pump, battery was good had it charged and checked at autozone and chekked fuses. It will crank sounds like it turns on for second then turns off ..will spark plugs be problem? Igot this car from small dealership around april 2020 so idk when is last time they changed spark plugs

@@tiinzvega1591 why would you change out all those parts. Just doing a quick search shows this common for that vehicle. Throttle body sensor. I doubt you.needed to replace your alternator or fuel pump...check engine codes and forums first...

@@tiinzvega1591 currently having same issue. Sounds exactly like my story. I've had so much work done, only had 6 mos and have only driven a little over 3k miles. Just had my 2nd oil change from when I initially purchased and got the oil changed. By the time I repair and replace everything ill have rebuilt it. Extremely frustrating. Waiting for the next issue. Great video and worked well, had issues with placing the intake back on and the spark plug removal sucked a little but the explanations were great! I had different and annoyingly hard to remove clips but managed anyway. Thanks for you help! I used bungee cords and they do work well!

Can a misfire can these Traverses to shake? I have a 2014 and I keep thinking maybe transmission prob but now steering towards maybe needing a tune up? Mine will shake when I try to accelerate from gears 2 to 5. It can be between the gears or at the start or end of gear. Any tips?

Andrew Cerda Definitely, a misfire will cause your truck to shake. If it shakes under load as you’re describing it may be an ignition coil going bad. Check Engine light blinking indicates a misfire also...Transmission going bad is a common problem on this truck, I had mine rebuilt under warranty. Have it checked for codes and address your misfire first...

Hey great video! So my check engine light came on. Rpms were jumping and engine shook around 40mph. Went to auto shop and computer told me cylinder 3 was misfiring. Change all spark plugs and cylinder 3’s coil. Check engine light is still on but the rpm needle only jumps slightly. And doesn’t shake. Any suggestions? 2009 traverse.

I ran into a problem removing the coils...the rubber tips had glued themselves to the bottom of the spark plug. The front you could see the stuck boot, but the rear ones are blind. I devised a way to remove them. I bought a cheap 11/16 deep socket and cut 5 shallow lines in the top to make a cutting tip. then i use a 6 inch extension and a electric ratchet and spun it ,and it cut its way through the rubber boot,when it contacted the metal in the plug, it removed the plug, even though it is 11/16 and not 5/8

Listen! I normally don't leave comments but your video just saved me another 300 on 2016 traverse. The only issue I had was the clips on the ignition coils (on the 16 they are a lil bit tricky to remove) and unfortunately I over torqued on one of the coils and snapped the bolt on the coil. Other than that your description of everything was spot on! Now if you could make a video on how to remove a snapped bolt on the ignition that would be fuego my guy Hector🔥. God bless you man!!!

Primo, would changing the fuel injectors involve way more work? I don’t know mucho de carros pero I got an 09 Traverse that I think needs the injectors replaced. On average cuanto if I take it to the shop?

Luis Chavez injectors can get expensive, specially these because I believe they are Direct Injection injectors. As far as the labor goes, it should be much more labor 👍🏼

Good video! the process is similar for the 2014 impala LT 3.6 the intake is molded over the coils so removing it is the only way to get to those rear plugs! The impala LIMITED 3.6 has a different intake that does not require removal of the intake!

Marquis Johnson just felt a little shaky at times. Your symptoms sound like you have a transmission issue (a common problem for the traverse) might be under special coverage at your local dealership...mine was they fixed it at no charge to me 🤘🏼

Good video. Recommend you do one on using silicone grease when reinstalling or replacing the coil pack. Keeps the moisture out of the spark plug connector. If it gets corrosion on the connector it will cause the coil pack to fail. Been there done that.
