I always say, if you can't hit the notes live that you do in studio versions then don't use those notes on the album to begin with.

That really sucks though. The thing about the Rock genre is the raspy voice makes it all the better, unfortunately singing from your diaphragm makes most of the raspiness very faint, which takes away from the song. But, I would much rather have a singer keep their singing voice, than to see them lose it, especially so early in their careers.

*****, Yes it has! Thank goodness for that. Brett released an album with his side project band World Fire Brigade (check them out if you haven't already. They are like a heavier version of Fuel) in 2012, and he sounded spectacular in that. There are even parts of those songs on the album where he sounds like he did on the first two Fuel albums... and of course he sounded even better in Fuel's most recent album "Puppet Strings," that was released in 2014. Just FYI, Fuel is currently working on their sixth studio album. I cannot wait to hear new music from them!

I saw him sing a million years ago when Saliva was playing with them. Small venue in Mississippi... both bands played like they were playing at Madison Garden and gave us their all. Freaking Amazing! I will forever love both bands! BUT... to me Fuel is nothing without Brett.... his voice just beyond words. It's liking trying to find a replacement voice for Elvis or Journey. You can get close, but it's still just a replacement.
