I agree; one of the best pop songs of all time. She still looks and sounds awesome!

One of my favorite songs of all time, and definitely one of the underrated songs of the 70's. Forty years after its initial release, and she's still got it. My goodness...that looks like Hot Lips Houlihan on stage.

our generation had by far the best music. we also had the best parties that usually turned into orgies, it was the generation of Vietnam, demonstrations and free love.

When I saw her picture on her 1972 album I had an instant teenage crush (amongst another instant teenage male reaction)! Well we're both older and slower to react (speaking for myself anyway), but I think I appreciate her rendition of this song more now. Her voice is holding up much better than most women her age!

Wow, great to hear Chi is alive and still playing out! She looks and sounds fantastic! Deserved more success than being a one-hit wonder in the USA. She and Gayle McCormick of Smith fame were my two favorite female vocalists of that period. They both were underrated singers, only had one hit and from what I understand became born again Christians.

"thunder and lightning ..." Chi Coltrane (pronounced "shy"; born 16 November 1948) is an American singer, songwriter and pianist. Coltrane was born in Racine, Wisconsin. Her mother was Canadian, her father a German violinist, and she grew up with six siblings. When she was twelve, she gave her first piano performance. In 1970, she started the funk and blues band Chicago Coltrane. Two years later, she signed a contract with Columbia Records and her eponymous debut album was released. The first single, "Thunder and Lightning", was a hit, reaching No. 17 on the Billboard magazine chart. She enrolled in the Salter School of Music in Los Angeles, and the following year she released her second album, Let It Ride, which in Europe became even more well-known than her first album, but was not successful in the US. This was followed by Greatest Hits and Best Of (both in 1975), and Road to Tomorrow (1977).

I hope I and the woman I love will look the feel the way you do at that age. I am a man. For some reason thunder and lightning has stuck in my head. You a are still very pretty at your age. If it doesn't work out for me and the woman I have got my eyes on. Let's go out in a blaze of glory.

Other women in this age, hanging on the heart / lung machine! 69! Only Tina Turner can match that!
