CHIANTI Villages - Radda with a local, Fabrizio

I've lived in Italy for 30 years, based mainly in Florence. I've always had a strong passion for wine and I love sharing this Tuscan wine world - I hope you'll join me as I explore the territory with locals!
Today I hang out with a local of Radda in Chianti, Fabrizio, who owns one of the original "bars" (cafes) in the area (Bar Dante 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦: @bar_dante_radda) together with his English wife Carolyn who has also written a wonderful memoir of her life in a small Tuscan village, behind the counter of an Italian bar (Life behind the Bar - a Tuscan Inquisition by Carolyn Chambers).

One of the things I love about Italy is how friendly the people are. I was only in Liguria for 3 days during which time I made three friends ( 2 were my host and his ex partner and the other was the owner of a Trattoria who sent me an email the next day entitled "in friendship" ) I plan to retire there next year or the next! Thanks for the great videos on this area.

There are so many lovely little villages - definitely with day tripping! Make sure to try Fabrizio’s Bruschetta when you are there!

I used to live in the countryside near Radda with my family in the late 70s and early 80s. We shopped for groceries at Porciatti's, and the rare times I go back to visit, I stop by to say hello. So many memories of going to Sunday mass, having a coffee in one of those two caffe', walking in the main street and around the walls overlooking that great green valley. Not much has changed there, both my parents have passed now, but I still treasure those memories of a past so distant it doesn't feel real anymore.
