Just saw this video for the first time. Not going to get into much but an old lady lived in the house, that's why it was an offensive attack

Imagine that, a structure that has burnt previously. I wonder how much money and manpower has been wasted, not to mention how many lives are put in danger, to extingush a structure that should have been torn down before it caught fire the FIRST time!

Love CFDs moxy/chutzpah for sure. But in the name of FF safety, i question why they are going aggressive on an abandoned house.

Good training, if nothing else.
@25mfd6 жыл бұрын
I see your point. But that's not a good idea. Any training should be done before a fire incident, not on the fire ground.

They had reports of a woman in the house from what I understand. And IMO you can’t confirm a vacant until searches are complete. Ever. Structural condition matters more than occupancy

@@TalonJoyntFireAndRescue i did miss the part in the vid where there was a person inside... or was that ever mentioned in the vid?... so yes they should make entry IF there are reports of trapped folks... but no FFs should have been on the roof of this building... way too dangerous... also the building does have indications of being abandoned like boarded up windows, back door boarded up, tarp on the roof... those are signs of an abandoned house and FFs should adjust there tactics to fit the situation... so why are they going so aggressive on that roof... way too dangerous

@@25mfd alright, your opinion is your opinion. I think it was confirmed by the person who took the video

Venting a roof---no air pak--no helmet--no eye protection--are you serious????.
@bigredd6908 жыл бұрын
its Chicago man lol. yeah it aint safe but that's how these guys get down. their the toughest in the biz. they set the standards that a lot of departments mimic now days. but again its not safe
@stevenkelly97316 жыл бұрын
terry martin yeah...sometimes you gotta go with the flow...where you a by the book firefighter at?
@25mfd6 жыл бұрын
steve kelly but what terry martin pointed out are literally BARE MINIUMUM safety standards that weren't adhered to. Look at 4:00...the guy with the saw, no helmet, no SCBA...what if he falls through...he'd be pretty jammed up with no protection.
