Robert Wagner You certainly do, his songwriting carried the band during its first four years (1969-1972) as a national musical act. It was ironic that it was Cetera who wound up having success as a solo artist rather than Lamm, although Lamm has released some solo albums, none of them had hits or were sellers.
@stanb429 жыл бұрын
On this song however, Lamm's contribution is the keyboards player I the band and background vocals. I agree RLs contribution to Chicago's success cannot be understated, but my comment was about this video only.

These young men were really something special, individually and especially together... Peter reminds me so much of my friend growing up in the 70s who was also Polish American and both of us were into sports we both played baseball and football ... But my friend who's name was Rich .. definitely could not sing like Peter.... Peter who really complimented this band as a lead singer and chorus.. was the guy who could hit notes and sing melodies that put goosebumps on the girls. now the horn section here is also what really makes this band stand out... They almost had to be engineers to figure out how to create music in the middle of the Rock scene where these horns could not only contribute but become an important piece of the music created ... If the Pop rock scene was all about art and making music and money and contracts took no part in it all ... This band would have continued to grow exponentially and possibly start setting the trend of music to come... Terry brought a ton to the table himself . Again such important part the Chicago equation... The soulful lead singing and lyrics could have one believe that Terry was from the southeast side of Chicago and not the north.. I could go on and on about the band ..like with Robert lamb who just kept hitting out of the part with number 1 songs... Songs that we all sing today and whose melodies will live on forever... The drummer for Chicago was the heartbeat behind all of it... Very solid steady
@lamarravery40945 ай бұрын
Lamm never wrote a number one song, but Peter wrote 3, 2 for Chicago and 1 when he went solo. But Lamm did write a ton of their earlier hits along with Pankow, then Peter took over when the others couldn't write a hit song anymore.

@@zachb3573 what he was implying was it was thanks to Cetera for keeping them afloat right after the shock to ALL, over Terry's death. The late 70's saw Lamm & Pankow producing nothing, as they were all dried up, tapped out. And while they had a strong following on college underground stations it was nowhere near the explosive financial success and fame they acquired with the Cetera/Foster collaborations and Peter's No.1 Grammy winning/nominated songs. Peter Cetera made them all world famous and millionaires. Not once have I heard any of this band make a Grand humble gesture of thanking PC. They were fine giving stage leader, front-man status to Terry but when Peter held the spotlight , they suddenly couldn't take it. Jealousy and envy still have Pankow & Lamm in its grip. They prob don't realize it but they come off in interviews like jealous little bitches.
